How much time have you spent around motorcycle clubs? How many members of motorcycle clubs do you personally know?

Would you consider sitting in jail for right at a year without ever being brought to trial or even given bail reasonable to you?

Well, a judge made an independent determination that bail was not warranted, so that's largely irrelevant. I don't know what the decision was based on, and the article is laughably silent in that respect while condemning it at the same time.

And a year for murder charges, that's not unreasonable at all. There is evidence to be gathered, a defense strategy to be planned, witness interviews to be conducted, and a host of pretrial motions to go through. Also, the attorneys assigned have to have available dates to conduct the trial.

You are critiquing the delay in a vacuum while apparently lacking any knowledge whatsoever about what goes into a murder trial.

A few actually, but they don't resort to violence though. It's just a bunch of old farts who get together and ride the back roads every now and then. They have nice jackets though.

Wow. And I'll bet you consider yourself a small government conversation don't you?

No, because he was in a gang that resorted to violence, on multiple occasions. That story seems about as slanted as it could be, which most of them usually are. I highly doubt this fella is as innocent as the story makes him out to be. Again, he was in a gang.
You can keep saying he was in a gang, saying it more times doesn't make it any more relevant than it is...which it isn't.

Either he had something to do with the murder or not.

What does small government have to do with this? The man was involved in the death of another human being.

If he is innocent, the jury will tell us. He will get his day in court.

So if the guy getting beat up and stabbed as unconscious/completely out of it when the dude was stabbed, no loss of liberty?

Cool, not really relevant at all to this incident.

Then you should know that motorcycle clubs are not "gangs". Are there criminals in the MC world? Yes. There are also criminal preachers. Are all preachers criminals? There's lots of cops who are criminals. Are all cops criminals?

And when will that be? This has been going on since early 2013.

If the article is factual, then sure this is all fuct up.

Starkweather has a long row to hoe, as do his co-defendents.

But

They chose a lifestyle feared by society. You don't get to play modern-day gun-toting outlaw on horseback, riding the streets in posses and expect ANY condideration from the law.

Gangs on horseback don't get to hide behind the term "Motorcycle Club" and expect the same treatment I get behind the wheel of a fricking Camry.

Call it unfair, Lord Vader, but I call it common fricking sense.

The article also says the guy knocked him down and was stabbing him in the neck. Did you miss that part or does that fact not matter?

Whenever the lawyers get around to actually allowing the case to move forward. Contrary to what I assume your beliefs are, the courts have no interest in watching a murder case draw out for years.

It's the lawyers who beg for more time.
