There's no "L" to take. You clearly misquoted what you heard, which was a podcast with unsubstantiated information. That's not how you win arguments.

I will say in their defense, it is pride month. The flags are probably flying a good bit more than usual.

You assumed something that was not true and called me a liar.

At least apologize

You stated something that was incorrect based on something that you thought you heard. At worst, you are a liar. At best, you passed along erroneous information about something that you misunderstood (which wasn't substantiated anyway).

If you weren't intentionally lying, I apologize for calling you a liar, and I will just call you an idiot instead.

Look, I get why you have such a vested interest in this. Like a lot of Southerners, you think that Yankees spend a significant portion of their day thinking about Southerners and calling them ignorant and racist. So, you latch on to something that shows racism/segregation up North as some sort of gotcha. I get it. It's borderline extreme paranoia, but I get it.

I grew up in New York. I've been around Yankees my entire life. The number of times they have slandered Southerners as ignorant and racist is significant. Also significant is how often they demonstrate their own racism. It's not paranoia, it has basis in fact and experience.

It’s just a discussion. I highlighted some positives and negatives.

Brother, instead of noting the amazing architecture in Boston, the food, etc., your arse counted some random arse flags for some reason. I can't imagine going somewhere and giving a shite about that. You made a whole arse post about it.

I always forget that the South is at the forefront of race relations. They certainly haven't done anything in the past that would give other people a certain impression!

the context was a bombing in Clinton, TN, specifically a high school over segregation...something I already explained.

i shouldnt have to draw you a picture for you to understand the context, yet here we are.

I grew up in Louisiana. I've been around Southerners and Yankees (after I moved up here) my entire life. The number of times people in the South have slandered Northerners is significant. Posters in this very thread are a typical example.

I mean, it's almost as if we're going to come to the conclusion that there are good people and bad people everywhere, and that the vast majority of us are a little of both, but generally mostly good (hopefully).

I'm retarded? At least I can comprehend and accurately repeat the information being disseminated over an NPR podcast.

Then you shouldn't pretend that Yankees don't express similar prejudice against Southerners. You know that they do. You also shouldn't pretend that racism and segregation doesn't exist in the Northeast. Especially when studies show NYC to be at the top of the list.

You haven't pointed to one that does. I can point to several that say it isn't. I've given you one already.

And you may disagree, but I don't consider people pulling their kids out of public school and sending them to private schools as "segregation". I know progressives generally disagree with me on that.

i didnt trick you, I provided a link that supported my statement.

you being like "oh, well you said segregation, not SCHOOL segregation" isnt the gotcha you think it is, and in fact, its a microcosm of the topic at hand and my comments on it and reinforces my statement.
