Yep, I live in Mentone. It rarely gets above 90 in the Summer and snows occasionally in the Winter. Last week when it was in the mid to upper 90’s around me, it was 88 degrees at the house.

Rather cool in NE AL this morning. In the 60’s with low humidity.

I was in New England Thursday to Sunday and it was touching 90. 10 degrees cooler than here but I was pissed. Saturday night storms brought the cooler weather and I was flying out

Friend said the same thing and now an oak tree is in his living room. Careful what you wish for.

Here in North AL we dropped down to 63° last night.

I spent 4 days over the weekend at a cabin on Smith Lake weather wasn’t bad up there

I didn’t know confederate flags were still so common in that area either

I love Mentone. Wife went to camp there and made lifelong friends. I’m ready to get back up there. Been a couple of years, and I need a fresh cap.

Fort Payne got down to 61°. The NOAA site doesn't have their historic record, so I don't know where it ranks.

I'm not trying to start anything with this. I also want to point out, just as in the past, I am not saying these temps are Normal. Nor, am I saying, or implying, that it isn't hot.

That said, I'd like for you to consider something.

Below are two locations taken from Google maps.

Both are coordinates for weather stations used by NOAA/NWS. The first is at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. The second is the weather station at the Ben Hur Central Research Station.

For the first location the past four days high temperatures were as follows:
101°, 101°, 102°, 104°

For the second location the past four days high temperatures were as follows:
96°, 98°, 100°, 97°

The first location averaged a 102° high temperature for the four days of July 29, 30, 31 and August 1.

The second location averaged 97.75° (we will call it 98°) over those same four days.

The two locations are separated by ~14 miles. You can get technical and say that the second location isn't within the city limits of Baton Rouge, and you'd be right. You'd also be ignoring a major point the two images, alone, make.

Just some food for thought, presented for you to consider.

Not really sure what you’re trying to get across here. My pws isn’t near a bunch of concrete and i’ve been in the 100’s 4 straight days, highest reading being 103.5

And if NOAA is trying to cook numbers by strategically placing weather stations, why is asphalt getting hotter these days?

I didn't say that.

Why is the focus pretty much only on the airport reading?

Don't get mad, bitch. The only pussy around here is you and all the crying you've done.

There is no "official reading for Baton Rouge". There just......isn't.

Oh, and have you found what I asked your lying arse to find yet. Still looking?

ETA: cute that you think I'd downvote you.
