Guys like me are usually the 1st person people criticize and the last person people recognize. I'm outspoken. Extremely opinionated. With a in your face personality.
In my thank you, I said "black people in Baton Rouge earn 46 cents for every dollar a white person earns on average. We are #1 for HIV. We are #2 for domestic violence homicide. One of the top rankings for segregated cities in America. This is a mess I didn't create, but I want to be apart of solving the problem."
Everyday I'm reminded of the work we have to do in order to make this city a great place to live. We can't ignore those statistics and pretend things are okay. They aren't. #inBRwe have work to do, and I'm humbled that Dezmion Barrow and the brothers of Next Generation Pioneers see the need to get to work and are doing their part.
This is the first physical award I've received for advocacy, so for me, I'll always remember it was my own community, black males in Baton Rouge, in my generation that recognized the work we are trying to accomplish. Thank you brothers and as always #DoGoodandSeekJustice

I heard it was at the American Legion hall and like 50 people showed up. They all gave each other awards. MM and KB looked stunning in their Stein Mart dresses.

Stein Mart is run by a white male...those 2 would never buy anything that the oppressive white male runs

If I didn't know any better I would've thought that was Don Draper and Joan.
So brave.

Jesus. The dude must have to lay down, suck In, and have a kid jump up and down on his stomach to get the button on that jacket buttoned up.
Button stitch game strong.

You don't button the second button in a 2 button jacket....

So this is Baton Rouge trash awarding their own for blaming everyone else for their problems? Typical

Someone should give an award to the button on Gravy's jacket. That thing is going well beyond it's designed holding power
ETA: I hope he doesn't get too attached to MM, she will undoubtedly abandon him.
