I had a teacher in high school that was part of an exchange program. She was from France. She wore the same outfit every day for a week. Don't think she bathed during the week either. By Friday she was pretty ripe.

If you wear a shirt for several days without washing, you'll notice it's perceptibly heavier. That's from all the dead skin cells and general funk. If an article doesn't stink or have visible dirt, no need to wash every time. But don't make the mistake of thinking its clean.
