I think most people realize that Chicago is a tier below NYC, Paris, London, etc.
It's still a cool place though.
i've been to new york 10 times, and will be traveling to chicago for the first time this june. you are 100% accurate as i am not expecting it to be on par with new york, i am expecting it to be more akin to san francisco or boston.

How is Vegas overrated? It is exactly what it claims to be. And pretty good at it at that.

I have not visited Vegas before though. Some of you talk about it like it's pretty awful.
Most people probably hear the wild stories and see how it is resembled on TV and in the movies and expect to have a similar experience. If you want to have an experience like that you are going to need to shovel out $$$. I think Vegas is great, personally. Some of the stuff I have seen there is just ridiculous.

i agree that i wouldn't want to live in New Orleans
I used to feel this way, then I married a girl from New Orleans and started doing things with her friends there. Started going to some neighborhoods, etc. that I wasn't familiar with as just a visitor. I could definitely see myself living there. You just have to know where to live.

NYC would be #1 for me
I didn't think I would like NYC, but I really enjoyed it. There's just so much there for every type of person. You can sample some of the best the world has to offer all in one place. It's a lifestyle I wouldn't mind experiencing for a little while (granted I have a bunch of those).

Seriously I have no idea how that guy said Amsterdam is overrated
The museums themselves are worth the trip
If you go to Amsterdam just for weed and/or hookers, you're doing it wrong

i don't find vegas appealing, but i'm not a "vegas person". nothing about gambling appeals to me, and i'm not a party person. they have great food and drink, but i can get that here. last time i was in vegas it was for a wedding, and we did the party thing but i was wishing i'd been in the mountains/desert the whole time was there.
