Ok and no where have I said that it's ok for anyone to be doing 68 in the left lane of a 70. I have clearly talked about people going over the speed limit in the left lane. No, frick the guy in the left lane of a 70 going 63, but that isn't what MOST in here are talking about.

there are 2 lanes, one for drivers that aren't passing and want to drive below the speed limit. Thats why there are signs that read, "Slower traffic stay right" the other lane is for drivers that choose to drive at or above the speed limit and use the left lane for passing. Thats why there are signs that read "left lane for passing"
What is so hard to understand?

Point is, the left lane is NOT a travel lane.
Ah but is it a travel lane for people going 70 in a 70 or going 75 when everyone on the right is going 70?
If someone is going 73 in the left lane while people in the right are going 70, do they not have the same right staying in the left lane as someone driving 75 right behind them?

Its ok as long as you are going faster than the people in the right lane

If I'm passing six cars in the left lane going 63 then it will be fast enough for you until I can get back in the right lane in front of the cars going 63.

This topic makes my blood boil. Left lane is for passing MF'ers!

Nice edit.
I thought I had read all of the current post, but missed your last one where you addressed what I was posting about

all you road raging shitheads that think it's so safe to drive at 100 MPH and that it isn't dangerous to pass someone on the right hand side.
Heavy Generalization

Sounds like you have some serious anger issues.
Again, a generalization, and also an ad hominem attack.
Argument invalid, trolling unsuccessful

No, the other lane is for people doing the speed limit or lower and passing slower drivers in the the right lane. It is not for speeders.

Serious question: Why are minorities so goddamn guilty when it comes to hanging out in the left lane and driving slow?
I've thought about this a bit lately, as left-lane slow pokes aggravate me more than just about anything on Earth. My theory is that most of these drivers, especially the younger ones, don't have parents teaching them the rules of the road. My dad taught me to drive before I was 16, and not just how to put it in drive and park, but the nuances of the road.
I think a lot of kids today just go to their mandatory driving "school" and probably frick around on their phones the entire time. If they don't have parents at home that are trying to teach them how to drive like a normal person, chances are they'll just know the bare minimum and drive like dumbasses.

quote:I have no problem with the guy getting over into the left lane going 75 to pass some cars in the right lane and then getting back over when he's done passing. No problem at all. The problem I have is for people who just cruise at 75 in the fast lane and don't get into the slow lane ever. Even if the nearest car is a mile ahead, still won't get over.
If I'm passing six cars in the left lane going 63 then it will be fast enough for you until I can get back in the right lane in front of the cars going 63.

Ok serious question for you. You seem like a prick so I'll ask you do you EVER travel in the right lane? Or do you just always stay in the left lane going 85 because you think you are always passing someone? Like the left lane is your personal lane.

Also, here is the law I posted earlier in the thread (may have gotten lost in the shuffle)
LINK
The law says get the hell out of my way.
LINK
quote:
B.(1)(a) Upon all multilane highways, no vehicle shall be driven in the left-hand lane except when directed otherwise, preparing for a left turn at an intersection or private road or driveway, overtaking or passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction, or when right-hand lanes are congested; however, no vehicle being driven in the left lane except when directed otherwise or preparing for a left turn at an intersection, private road, or driveway shall impede any other vehicle that is traveling in the same lane and behind that vehicle.
quote:
(b) Upon all multilane highways, no vehicle traveling in the left-hand lane shall be driven at a speed slower than any vehicle traveling to its right on the same roadway.

You're not passing. You're holding speed. Why can't you get in the line of people going 63 if you're going to go 63 anyways and just let the guy going 65-70 go on his merry way?
EDIT: Retract this statement. I read it the wrong way.

Ok well I personally don't do what you just said. I thought I have made that pretty clear. What I love is when the assholes come raging up from behind immediately flashing their lights because I am passing. If someone does that I will never get out of the left lane for them

I've always thought that on a major hwy with a 70mph speed limit, 75 is what most to all should be doing in the right lane with Semis being the exception. You stay in the right lane doing 75 until you catch said Semi, then you overtake in the left lane. If or when I need to get in the left lane to pass the semi and I am unable to because a bitch is doing 75 or less, then they are doing it wrong. If everyone had this exact mind set, wrecks and speeding tickets would be minimal, I'd imagine.
And I'm just speaking in general, not disagreeing with you or anything.

Most of the time, the guy going 80+ has serious road rage issues. Someone might be going 75 in a 70 to pass 5 cars in the left lane going 63. Usually, the guy going 80+ barrels down on the guy trying to go around the traffic in the right lane as if he is going to drive through the guy trying o go around traffic and starts flashing his headlights the instant he gets behind them.
This is the situation that really pisses me off, and I think is really dangerous.
FWIW, I actually probably drive a lot faster than I should, and I still get people doing this to me.

Umm I just said passing cars. Wow. You must have trouble reading. Assume I am going 75 in that exact example and you are going 85.
