My generation? Do you think I'm a boomer? And yes, I've known it was a Ponzi Scheme since I was as young or youmger than you. But instead of whining and bitching about it, I started putting back momwy from retirement from day one. I made sure me and mine will be provided for when I'm ready to retire.

When I graduated high school unemployment in my area was 20%, inflation through the roof, interest rates peaked at 20% a few years later. Manufacturing jobs were disappearing, no one was hiring and your only hope for employment was to get a minimum wage job and work your way up. This was the norm in NW Louisiana, this isn't some anecdotal individual tale. But yeah...we had it so much easier.
So, what I did was get a minimum wage job, go to school at night, build my house on my own over a few years while living in an apartment. Not that's anecdotal, but it's the reality we all faced at the time.
Now while things may have been less expensive at face value, no one could afford shite because of interest rates.
You people whining about not having upper middle class standards at age 25 really don't get sympathy from anyone and never will. Life sucks for you because you suck at life.

Does anyone who claims that milennials could afford the same houses their parents afford at 25-30 have an answer to this graph?
The notion that milennials could afford the same houses their parents afforded is ridiculous and completely unsupported by any facts. Oh and compounding that graph above take a look at this
Disposable income has decreased and tuition continues to increase. That is a triple whammy of milennials being materially worse off than their parents, yet how is any of this their fault?

It's fricking crazy to me that people can't acknowledge the facts about this stuff. Milennials have issues, no denying that. Pretending that not buying an iPhone is magically going to put them in a house is retarded though.

Honesly, it is social media.
Darth, Roger, and the other Xers and boomers with social media let it completely warp their brains. They think millnials are this lazy slob infested generation. Which just simply isnt true as a whole. They are similar to all those before them
For example, my dad is 61 and never been on social media a day in his life. He would never say he thinks the millenials are like anything this board portrays. He knows me and my friends as young successful 30 year olds. Yeh, he calls our music and clothes shite, but that is typical generation shite.
Social media has made older people morons with this "worst generation ever!!!!!" shite. Same with people thinking their is a race war. When I walk around in my daily life everything seems completely normal and fine. But if I get on this site or watch the news, you would swear we are about to implode.

Research the economy between 73-85. Find someone who understands to interpret the big words for you.

Congratulations on making it in life, but your story has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion.
You're missing the point and making excuses for failure. The point of sharing my personal story is to show that I'm nothing special, I possess no super power or unsual talent. And if I can make it from where I was then to where I am now, then there is no reason a kid can't do the same today. The economy sucked back then as it does now. So you can either sit there and have a fricking pity party and feel sorry for yourself and how unfair life is to you and your peers. Or you can do like I did, than and others are doing today, and go make something of yourself.
I'll tell you one thing for sure that won't help. That's trying to blame everyone else for all your problems.
