These people just don't know.

My only concern is that this thread will take a turn for the gay once the night crew gets ahold of it.

The problem with an island is that zombies don't drown. They just walk into the water and can walk up on a beach at any time.

This was discussed previously...no way a zombie could walk all the way across the ocean floor to our island. Not only would the body decompose in the water, but what blood was on/in the zombie would attract sharks, not to mention the countless other fish that would much on them. Eventually, that would lead to them brain of the zombie getting eaten, which would "kill" it.

Also, no way the zombies' bodies could withstand the extreme pressures of the ocean floor.

The island is the safest place in the world.

Good point.

Either way, our best bet for a final destination is somewhere sparsely populated. Less people = less zombies.

Another place to consider creating a "fortress" would be a prison. Unlike places like police stations and possibly malls, they won't be popular sites of refuge, but they usually have great defenses along with plenty of ground for growing food, an arsenal, an on site medical facility, and plenty of redundant fall back points in case the outer defenses get over run.

Of course, now that I think about it, TS does have a training facility in it, so basic medical needs would probably be able to be met there.

Disagree completely. In both World War Z and the Zombie Survival Guide there are many instances of zombies emerging from the ocean. Nothing is going to eat them and even if they did, there aren't enough sharks in the world to eat 5 billion zombies.

In fact, I would say the desert would be the best place. Zombies, while dead, are still subject to the laws of physics. Their bodies have to move in order to catch you. In order to do that they must have moisture in their tissues to allow the muscles and tendons to function without breaking. Now, image a zombie attempting to walk across the desert and slowly drying out until there is no moisture in their bodies. They would no longer be able to move and therefore would no longer be a threat. If a zombie stayed in the water, he could always move.

But they can float, and once they hit solid ground they can walk and kill again.

Also, I'm not sure zombie flesh is appetizing to animals. I guess there might be conflicting theories, but my guess would be that if the zombie is brought back to life by an infection (as opposed to some necromancer), animals would steer clear of it.

if the zombies had to float the ocean currents could protect us or be our worst enemy depending on our location

How the hell are we supposed to get from TS to the island without having our brains munched on by the Zombies?

8 to 1 we would need enough to use some uglies as decoys

Unfortunately, whores will be easy targets on Z-Day due to their poor running techniques and shoddily constructed footwear. Only a few will survive, usually the small-breasted variety. It doesn't look good.

Those fictional books are not gospel.

Also, who's to say 5 billion zombies would all try to come to the island? The number of zombies trying to cross oceans would be SUPER minimal.

Island = much better than desert. And if you have to be on the mainland, mountain fortress is the best way.

Fish/sharks eat meat/flesh. Zombie or not.
