I wasn't here in '83, but my neighbor told me that lived next door my house had 18 inches in house. Now the river is going to be a foot higher. Guess I'm screwed.

Man, if it was that bad this morning, why in the world did you go to work? Are you a heart surgeon or something?

Supposed to be a scrimmage at the high school. Wishful thinking at this point.

If I really wanted to brag I would say where I was staying in 30A.

haven't kept up at all with the flooding, but can someone let me know how traveling back from 30A to Baton Rouge will be like tomorrow
They'll let you through the road closures if you have a 30A sticker on your suburban.

I'd start moving things upstairs.

You rented the house that they filmed "The Truman Show" in?

Ok, all LOLs aside, really think we should postpone? Got family with us from Alexandria and they're considering going north at Mobile and doing Hattiesburg to Cenla via Jackson. They don't have the option to stay an extra day as schools starts for the kids on Monday.
But for us living in BR, we really probably won't have a way into BR whether we do interstate or try to cut across and come down from Natchez. Saw some people saying Zachary is flooding.

I would.
The interstates are all (relatively) passable at this point. But that could change if/when the rain picks up.
The real trick is that a lot of surface streets are completely impassable. People's homes are flooded already, and we have 24+ more hours of rain.
So, chance are you will be able to get "here" but, the trick is whether or not you will be able to get to your house.

Tanker thought he could make it starts cruising down the road and now swept away, he is screwed.

Seriously just stay ... not worth chancing anything and getting stuck on the road. How old are the kids starting school??? Likely not worth it.

Where are y'all seeing this tanker???

Does anyone know how high the water is around Brightside View Drive? I have an empty condo there with new carpet and fresh paint that I have a sick feeling about.
