The Girl Scouts have some cookies left over

So the article talks about all the issues with the unsold cookies, and also talks about how some leaders think that part of the problem is declining membership selling fewer boxes of cookies, even before COVID. And apparently, some protests are happening due to palm oil.
But in all the story and all the interviews... no one mentions the most obvious solution: just have a summer cookie sale.
Round up some girl scouts, load them up with cookies, and have some booth sales this summer at local grocery stores, just like they do normally in the spring.
Is this obvious to anyone else besides me? Instead of complaining, just sell the rest of the cookies normally. People like girl scout cookies in the summer as well!

The Girl Scouts have an unusual problem this year: 15 million boxes of unsold cookies.
The 109-year-old organization says the coronavirus — not thinner demand for Thin Mints — is the main culprit. As the pandemic wore into the spring selling season, many troops nixed their traditional cookie booths for safety reasons.
"This is unfortunate, but given this is a girl-driven program and the majority of cookies are sold in-person, it was to be expected," said Kelly Parisi, a spokeswoman for Girl Scouts of the USA.
The impact will be felt by local councils and troops, who depend on the cookie sales to fund programming, travel, camps and other activities. The Girl Scouts normally sell around 200 million boxes of cookies per year, or around $800 million worth.

Overpriced and the quality falls every year.
Plus the Girl Scouts aren’t what they used to be

It's a hard sell when I can walk past them and buy better cookies for less money in the store.

frick the liberals for ruining both the Girl & Boy Scouts of America. That being said, both charters could have stood up to the progressives and they didn’t. They get what they deserve.

Aren't they like $5 per box and less cookies now? Doesn't help Keebler is selling them year around, too.

Ever since Walgreens and Walmart stated selling knock off Thin mint and Samoas I haven't really had the need for GSC.

Is that Tim Curry in drag....again?

Only the OT could turn a topic on friggen girl scout cookies into politics.
That being said, I always pick up some thin mints when I see them. I really wish they sold in stores.

Oreo sells mint thins and they taste exactly like thin mints. No need to donate money to progressives.

When each troop only gets $0.35 per box to support their activities, not a big money maker.
This year, GS HQ told our local troops that they could not 'pre-sell' any cookies. They had to order what they believe they could sell. And that was tough with all the moms and dads working from home.

About 5 different brands have them, for cheaper, more cookies and better quality

Yes.
That film also features a pre-Pulp Fiction Samuel L Jackson as a Danny Glover knockoff.

Would probably do even better. GSC season usually overlaps with Lent.

Loaded weapon is an absolute pleasure. I’m a huge spoof guy and couldn’t believe I hadn’t seen it until last year

Right. But if they are complaining about lack of money, every bit helps, right?

Well that's asinine. You would think with COVID, the pre-sales would be even MORE important!

One of the better gags had to be Jon Lovitz dying in mid-movie then coming back later on because he thought it was a sequel.

Sure. But a lot of people still enjoy buying girl scout cookies under the belief that they are helping the girl scout program.

All these once beloved programs that have been taken over by progs need to be completely defunded, abandoned and bankrupted.
Then maybe new organizations closer to the original missions can be founded and take their place. The only way to wrest our culture back from these cancerous progs is pain and their pocketbook.
