At least most reaction videos are people recording themselves and trying to put forth an interesting perspective, even if they fail.
If you have the same humor I do then this guy has the best "reaction" videos on Youtube.

The main problem here is Youtube's absurd takedown policies.
Basically works on a guilty until proven innocent system. If someone claims that you've stolen from them, youtube's system takes down the video no questions asked and it's up to that person to defend there work.
idk how they've tweaked it, but I remember when it was first implemented that a bunch of popular channels had videos taken down and then when the creators went through the process to get their video back up they realized that the people who claimed that the video infringed on IP weren't even the IP owners. Just trolls abusing the system.

The people in their industry won't, so they're pretty screwed when they want to get some famous YouTubers to appear on their channel.

Are you serious?
BTW, they didn't even create that format. There was another guy doing it way before them and the Fine Bros got his channel shut down AFTER they started doing their series. It was all over Reddit. They basically stole his format then pursued him legally using a few other copyrights they have secured.
They are scum.

Benny Fine has given me proof that they surrendered registration of TEENS REACT and KIDS REACT, and they have abandoned their applications for ELDERS REACT, REACT, PARENTS REACT, CELEBRITIES REACT, ADULTS REACT, TRY NOT TO LAUGH, LYRIC BREAKDOWN, KIDS VS FOOD, DO THEY KNOW IT, and PEOPLE VS TECHNOLOGY.
That means they've abandoned ALL marks that were in question. They heard our collective voice, and they responded. While, sure, this response was driven mostly by fear and a lightning fast unsubscribe rate, there’s no reason to keep our foot on the gas.
Is what they did initially right? No, of course not. But I didn’t offer my services to destroy their company or see endless employees laid off, and I hope you didn’t either. The internet gets hungry with vengeance, I know, but these are peoples’ lives. People who made a huge mistake, but a mistake they’ve corrected.
I hope you let people who enjoy the Fine Bros work continue to do so. I hope you don’t troll their comment section or lead brigades against their content. They don’t own the react genre, but it would be silly to say they aren’t one of the best at it.

It has been posted numerous times on Reddit. Go find it.

I don't use reddit if it is easy to find then just post a link. Because if the format existed before they started making videos that would change everything.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Finebros protecting their show format. Of course they weren't the first react show. Wheel of Fortune wasn't the first Hangman show either but you can't rip off Wheel of Fortune's format beat by beat like what people have done with the Finebros react videos.

It was linked in a huge thread yesterday and I am not going to dig all night for it. There have been so many threads on it that I forget which one it may have been in. Here is one they shut down though.

Talks of Fine Bros taking down other reaction makers go back for YEARS. Yet, in their AMA, they still claim they aren't doing it.

If anyone can find the creator of this original series, please have them contact one of the lawyers offering pro bono services to sue the Fine Bros.

Remember the "2 Girls, 1 Cup" Compilations? There is nothing original about their content or rhyme or reason to it. They just decided to make a series of them and never stop. They can literally claim just about anything as a "react". They were merely looking to extort other people. Its clear they're so delusional that they think they're Jesus and extort people for money when they clearly had nothing to do with it. The fact that they even considered that a century from then that people would look at the specific video they made as visionary and teaching the world about culture shows these guys are hugely delusional.

That senior react video is a complete ripoff. Doesn't matter that they used the "demographic of reactors" before the Finebros, the actually show format is a beat by beat 100% ripoff of Kids React.
To make the Wheel of Fortune analogy again would be Oval of Fortune you can change the shape but if you copied the show beat for beat its a rip off and the Wheel of Fortune has every right to take action.

Not sure why you keep saying this when they wanted to take down an Ellen Video that isn't their exact "format". Also, their "format" is very similar to shite VH1 was doing in the 90's on some of its shows.

Trademark and copyright law are very specific in that you can't selectively enforce your copyright or trademark or else it weakens them. You have to be far reaching and challenge everything or else it runs the risk of becoming common use and you losing it so they would have to go after every reaction video even those not using their format.
If they would have ONLY tried to trademark a format as you say then they could have gone after that format only and protected their trademark without haveing to be so far reaching which is why everyone suspects there were other motives behind going after such a broad trademark.
Speaking of protecting trademarks, Google employees are instructed not to tell someone to Google but to search because Google wants to keep their trademark from becoming common use and it weakening. That's how far you have to go to protect trademarks which is why such a broad term as react being trademarked would have been bad.

Which is a rip off of "Kids Say the Darndest Things", "I Love the 80s", and the countless other times it has been done before.

Ok, let's think this through on what they were proposing. They are trying to get profits from other YouTube users who do React videos. Now how many of these videos are carefully edited together with multiple perspectives of single people? Not many. They were supposedly launching a world wide brand that would "change the face of media forever". There's no way there's enough users who edit and film the exact same way they do. As for reactors themselves, who just film themselves and their friends reacting to various things, tens of thousands of them.
If they weren't trying to get money out of them, then what was their business model? There is no market for people who make those exact same videos. What was their plan to make money? There is only one that pops into my head, and it's the mafia business model. They attempted to take over YouTube and failed miserably. And if we're going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say that they were simply trying to provide a creative outlet for others and wanted to spread their format, then they are still delusional fools because there's no market for it.
What lawyer would say this is a good idea? There's almost no financial return for it if they're targeting users who do the exact same type of reaction videos. If it's just all reaction videos, then it's simply extortion and they could get sued into an oblivion over it. They should have just kept their old crappy business model and gotten random users videos banned for doing something that vaguely resembles what they do. They've gotten away with it for a long time, so why bring attention to yourself in the dumbest way possible? Either way, they may be the single most delusional mainstream people I've ever seen on the Internet in order to think this was a good idea and that people 100 years from now will look at their videos as we look at Mozart.
