I filed my claim yesterday. It was denied immediately. Contacted my insurance company and spoke with my agent. This process is designed to kill your spirit. Most people would rather give up and pay. I’ve spent over $1,500 so far evacuating on hotels, gas, and food. Nothing luxurious. And probably another $1,500 to go. Contact Sens. Kennedy and Cassidy.

I’ve paid federal taxes for 25 years and haven’t received a penny. Meanwhile you have welfare queens who have abused the system for decades. I’m not trying to gain anything. I don’t want to be screwed over following instructions and playing by the book.

shite killed my spirit back in the 2016 flood. This time, when we left home for Ida, I knew this would be all out of pocket so I counted it as an unplanned "vacation". But thankfully i'm in a place where i've been able to work remotely while i'm away and keep up with things.

But, yes. FEMA is a joke.

Is the government supposed to reimburse you for leaving your house for a storm?

I didn’t know this was an expectation

It’s heartbreaking - I learned that after Katrina. I’m very sorry for you.

And whatever relief the state of Louisiana comes up with will be a joke, too, especially if you try to do the right thing and have insurance and are honest.

You want to be reimbursed for living in a hurricane prone area and having to evacuate when a hurricane comes?

I’m glad my government protected me from terrorism on 9/11, plane crashes multiple times, and I don’t have kids.

You’re a liberal shite stain on this earth. It’s too bad you don’t live in Kabul right now.

you were all the more welcome to stay in your home.

I didn’t take you for one to be in lock step with your governments suggestions, but you know some folks thrive with a nany state taking care of them

Was there a mandatory evacuation? I think that makes a difference.

Also, without water, living conditions are considered unsanitary and evacuation expenses should be reimbursed. But once water comes back you will not be reimbursed if you remain evacuated strictly due to no power.

These are lessons learned from Laura.

no I’m actually principled and conservative.

Someone wanting a handout and complaining that Feds aren’t just handing out cash to just anyone a few days after a hurricane, calling someone else liberal

No electricity, no water, not supposed to flush toilet or take a shower. I’d call that “unlivable.” Plus, no caviar, champagne, or truffles. Le sigh.

Most of the “Income Tax” you pay is for the interest the US Government owes for borrowing Dollars the Federal Reserve loans to them

Taxation is theft

Plain and simple

I’ll make a deal with you. I won’t ask for a dime if we defund the Department of Education.
