Until there are repercussions for violating the civil rights of citizens, it will continue to happen. Most cops are likely good folks but they apparently aren't around in any of the videos when the others willingly and overtly violate the rights of others. Must be bad luck...

Its not just about being "good" or "bad." In alot of cases, cops legitimately don't understand the limits of their authority. They think bc they can "ask" for things (ID being an easy example), that they can demand them under force of law.

Our law enforcement is woefully undereducated. They need to spend less time macing each other and tackling punching bags, and more time in a class room learning.

It literally doesn’t though.

What he said is hyperbole, but the doctrine needs to be revisited.

Broken down it is "Umm sorry I didn't know I couldn't do that?"

It reads like Dave Chappelle stand up.

Out of curiosity, how often is the average citizen having interactions with Police officers?

Good. Nobody should be above the law, period.

I agree for the most part, until some cop has 2 seconds to decide if its worth it to take the shot and possibly save some kid's life but at the same time risk his home, pension and freedom if he misses by 1/2" and hits an innocent bystander.

Gotta be some latitude when doing that job.

Bingo. It’s so easy to Monday morning QB things. Unless you have actually been in a situation like this, you don’t know shite (not you, people in general).

Now, that being said, are there frick-ups in policing. Absolutely but what profession is perfect. I’m not against what Dex is saying completely but like I said it’s easy to criticize from the cheap seats. Slippery slope indeed…

I think basically all reasonable, rational people agree with this statement, including cops. Well said. Hopefully you don't ruin it by following up with something completely batshit insane
