Most people don't understand hate. They see you verbalizing displeasure regarding some inconsequential (to self) attribute (about another), and then think "wow, so what?"; they don't seem to fathom that it's the decision tree that is hated, not the decision. I honestly do NOT give a rat's arse if you want to use another bathroom, stick a foreign object up your arse, tattoo a dick on your forehead, whatever, that's on you. I just want people to understand and accept the "why' they are making that decision....and be fully and totally responsible for ALL repercussions that manifest from said "choice".

Don't tell me who I can date!....No child support
Don't tell me what I should study in School!..no food stamps
Don't tell me where I can live....no rental assistance

If you EXPECT someone to save you if you make shite choices, then you should have no say.

The fallout from 9-11 colored that whole decade unfortunately. I was in my early 30's when 9-11 happened. Before and after that event were like two different worlds. It was a watershed moment.

Ah, the era of rap metal, pop punk, Chappele’s Show, pop princesses, and high school/college gross-out comedies. Pants were low-wasted, and the skirts and shorts were short short. PC was nothing compared to what it is today (which helped result in a bevy of outstanding comedy tv shows and movies), but PC was already making big strides in schools. Probably an underrated time to be young, but still nothing special.

I by and large loved the 2000s decade, all the tragedies notwithstanding of course. Much of that has to do with it being my high school and college years so I’ll always look fondly on that aspect. I read and see everything that goes down on college campuses today, LSU included, and am just so thankful I was gone before much of the nonsense so I can say I truly enjoyed it.

The current political, cultural, and societal climates in America really dates back to 9/11 imo but took a MAJOR downturn in about the past 5-6 years. Everything is just so divisive now and people are so self absorbed and/or entitled. It seems not many are concerned with the welfare of their fellow man, least of all politicians. The Constitution has essentially been thrown out the window. Both parties are corrupt and the system is just so broken, I often wonder is it too far gone at this point?

The rise of technology and social media contributes as well. The more breakthroughs and amazing products we invent, the more absorbed we are with them and disconnected from reality and the actual human experience. As a millennial, I would openly admit I wish we could stay in the late 90s to mid 2000s version of America (again tragedies notwithstanding), especially for future generations sake. It greatly concerns me that my children would grow up in the world as it is today.

President Obama was elected the country was entering a recession, There was a period of time in 2007 when gas prices were almost $5/per gallon.

Both of those examples are cyclical in nature. Obama was a part of a decidedly negative shift in our discourse and political climate that appears far more long-lasting, unfortunately.

I was born in 1982 and I wish I had the chance to visit America between 1982 and 2001. Great movies, great music, great wrestling. From the outside it really seemed like another world.

I never got to visit until 2015 and I still love visiting(visiting again in a few weeks). But as you get older you become more of a cynic and realise the romantic side of it is not the same when you are a naive teen.

Bears 39 Aints 14

Flew up from Orlando for the game that morning and went right back to the airport that night. Once the snow started up again in the second half everyone knew that game was over.
