I do agree with this. I went to the Roanoke area awhile back and loved it. Just driving north of Dallas to get there was an eye opener coming from North LA.

Nobody is trying to move there bud, they may have to for work but that’s about it. The original home of the $30k millionaire.

We are also full.

I lived in both Dallas and Atlanta - the two "Metros" are so similar to me as far as Entertainment, Sports, Restaurants, Nightlife, etc etc etc
Dallas was great but I still give the edge to Atlanta. But, if I had to move from Atlanta and could pick any place to live outside of Florida, it would be Dallas.

Same here. Houston feels more gritty but more real. Having grown up in BR, it definitely feels more like home.
I had the impression you'd been in TX for a while based on username, at least.
While I dislike Aggy, you find a far higher proportion in IAH than you do in DFW. UT grads tend to head to DFW, not IAH. IAH is much more blue collar in feel than DFW is. One of our "cousins" (used loosely, she was latina, so I don't know if they were actually related, or if my ex-MIL cooked her a pupusa 20 years ago,) after moving from Katy to Frisco mentioned how much more "cultured" DFW was, because people have more degrees.

The Jones quotient in DFW is remarkable.
Not hating on it, but it does feel way more “plastic” than the rest of TX.

Traffic sucks, just another rat race big city.
With DFW right in the middle it makes travel quite the experience. If you lived near downtown and did not have to travel much it may be nice.

Not a fan of the miles of tree-cleared lots with cookie cutter homes and gable roofs for as far as the eye can see. The job opportunities and good schools in North DFW can't be beat but it seems depressing.

DFW airport and American Airlines
Interestingly, Preston Road was a cattle trail into/out of Oklahoma
I’m old enough to remember when Allen was just a sign on the side of 75 with nothing but farm land.

Dallas itself doesnt have much scenery or mountains.
Most of you live in Louisiana trying to talk bad about the views lmao. Have some self awareness.
That being said, there are a ton of places to hike that are actually hills and parks that have high elevations. Within 30 to 45 minutes.

Idk I’m not the biggest fan of Atlanta but it doesn’t feel nearly as bland and boring as Dallas. Plus it’s pretty close to the mountains which is nice.

I don't care for the big mega metros. They are fine to visit, but I wouldn't want to live in one at this point in my life.

Ok beachdude022. Please explain to me how to get out of Alabama, who's stuck at a dead end job who barely scrapes by. How am I just supposed to uproot my family and move to a state 10 hours from me with no job help etc? Please by all means explain it to me.

Viridian MPC is full baw dont come here.
I love DFW. Moving to Texas was the best decision of my life after 20 years on the Westbank.
Edit: People are forgetting about Arlington a lot, but they wont be in the next 20 years. Trying to steal some of that Collin County bougie.
