That's not entirely accurate considering teachers typically use their summers for professional development, training, and working on curriculum. Many also work after school programs, many of which pay very little or not at all.
It is true that teachers tend to have a more flexible schedule 3-4 months out of the year. However, it is a fallacy that they truly have all that time off.

The other day one of my friends posted how she is sick and needs time off and was directing it towards her husband...but she said moms can't take time off. Meanwhile her husband works his arse off to support them on one income...pissed me off

My wife and I look at her staying home as more of a cost savings. However, we have a crawling, teething, needy little boy. By the time I get home my wife is depleted. She's actually considering going back to work because of how hard it is.
That being said, she spoils that kid. She also is horrible using her time efficiently at home. He still gets up a lot in the night, and it makes her incredibly scatter brained.
At the end of the day it's a blessing right now to not have to pay someone else to take care of our baby.

Every couple has to do what works best for them. For some...that is having the mother stay at home with the children. I personally couldn't do it if I was a mother, but hats off to those that do. But being a SAHM doesn't mean you must love your children more than working moms.
I just don't like the smug "I'm better at motherhood because I'm a saint who stays home with the kids" attitude of some SAHMs that I see posting on my FB wall.

you can't argue this with them...I have tried. The most common reply is...yeh but yall get to leave the house and be around other adults and they think we have these huge parties everyday for lunch...and traffic is awesome

My wife (no pics) was a stay at home mom for the first year and a half with our twins, but she's recently gone back to work part-time, mainly to get out of the house.
Our tasks around the house haven't changed a bit since she's been back. The only thing about that meme that makes any sense is the "day care" portion. Her going to work has created a day care expense for us, but obviously she nets enough each week to cover day care and then some, or else she wouldn't have gone back.
The rest of that meme is BS.

Yeah. That meme is about as valid as the one where they talk about paying teachers like a babysitter:

Wait a minute -- there's something wrong here! There sure is!
The average teacher's salary (nationwide) is $50,000.
$50,000/180 days = $277.77 per day / 30 students = $9.25 / 6.5 hours = $1.42 per hour per student -- a very inexpensive baby-sitter and they even EDUCATE your kids!)

Only thing that bothers me about engineers is that they're kind of boring. We have quite a few of them in our social circle, and at all the parties we have, they're off in a corner by themselves not talking or saying much. Just kind of looking at each other.
Maybe that's just the personalities of these guys, though. That being said, we have a pretty artsy/humanities crowd of people we hang out with. It could just not be their scene, and they're getting drug along by their wives. Maybe if they were at an engineeering party, they'd all be wild and crazy.

I always see this, yet I cant tell you how many teachers i had that reused the same lesson plans year after year, so i cant believe this argument at all
