Never met a civil who was overly proud, but being a professional engineer is miles and miles more impressive than a teacher or a nurse.

There is no comparison in education, that's not open for debate.
That said both M.D.'s and N.P's medically diagnosis, treat, predcribe and in some states are true independent practitioners.
There is a big push for NP's to hold s PhD and some states will require this after 2015.

I think AZ is pushing for this. Friend of mine went ahead and got her DNP so she could be more competitive in the field.

This field hand is just mad that I made him retie an entire mat of rebar because it was placed wrong
He couldn't follow directions, even when we drew pictures of how it was supposed to be placed, and now he wants to bitch about our attitude

I'm very close to 2 teacher and they both bitch quite a bit BUT I do think that some of their complaints are valid. I've got 2 little ones and knowing that they're molding my kids brains makes me feel that they do deserve to make a little more.

Yeah but to be fair...they knew going into their profession that they are not paid well for the job they have.
(not saying teachers shouldn't be paid more, just saying when you know the field you are going into is paid like crap, you can't really get too upset that you end up....being paid like crap)

When you say teacher, I'm going to assume you are talking about primary and secondary school. Hopefully you are not lumping college professors in with that.

That's a regional thing. A lot of teachers up here make 80-100k/year. They still complain, or rather have their unions complain for them.
