Socializing in person in this country is a lost art. And with younger generations getting hooked on phones and tablets at a young age now, it will not end. I was at a basketball game the other night, and sitting in the row next to me was a family with 3 boys aged 7-12, all of them playing with their iPads the entire game and not paying attention to the game at all.
Oh yeah...it's totally the smartphone culture in this country.

We don't have some kind of weird break schedule where everyone is in some kind of break room at the same time, so this situation never even comes up.
That being said, if I did work somewhere and was in a room with 20 coworkers, I'd probably rather be playing a game on my phone or something.
Now, out socializing with friends, the phone pretty much stays in the pocket.

When I drive, I have my ipad air running by my console. If I have to do buisness, I just pull over if it's to much to drive. I can write emails and drive no problem ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbirdtongue.gif)

If they are zombie like just imagine how easy it will be to impress the women in the future. Sounds good to me.

I agree! Cellphones have turned so many into zombies. It is quite sad.

I remember a couple years ago a professor of mine said he noticed a new phenomena going on. That as soon as class ended and students stepped out of his classroom every last one of them got on their "texting machines" as he called them.

I leave my phone in my car at work... one because we aren't supposed to have them out at our desks

Not really sure why your post got so many dislikes.. I mean, I'm guilty of what you're talking about a lot of the time but I'm aware that it's definitely a problem.

Singapore is way worse, if you can imagine that.
It was bewildering to see an entire train/rail full of people and EVERY single person had their nose buried in their phone.

People riding on a bus, train or plane is completely different than what the OP was talking about or people attending a sporting event.. Nice try though.

Yeah, it's replaced social skills, which would explain the multitudes who struggle mightily in carrying on a conversation and look very awkward and uneasy in even quick chit chatting. It's become a very odd group to be sure. Very odd.
