The only value difference is perceived value and that is mostly based on what the people betting against Elon are saying. We won't know its true value as long as it is a private company with no public earnings reports. It's pretty silly to think that it is worth significantly less now simply because he took over and a few people are pouting about it. He has said several times that traffic is at an ATH and in turn, ad revenue is increasing. That is on top of the subscription service and all of the fat he has trimmed so far. IMO if people were honest, its value has probably increased all things considered.
Now if you want to argue he overpaid for it, I can see the validity of that argument.

The same reports that every day Elon responds to on Twitter and says they are false?
There was one the other day that SpaceX was raising $150 billion through a series A. Elon flat-out said it was false. It wouldn't make sense that SpaceX with its huge Government contracts would need to raise $150 billion at this point yet the media ran with it.
Elon has said Twitter will replace the MSM eventually. The MSM is scared of that being a reality.
If you can't see that all media against him is going to have a negative slant because they are scared of him then you are obtuse.
