There are two kinds of liars: honest ones and dishonest ones. Which are you? The honest liar knows he is a liar, he understands his need to lie and will admit to it. A dishonest liar is unaware of his ruse and is a danger to himself and everyone around him.
Why do so many people on the OT not just own the con? We all do it, some of us are just honest about it.

If anything, I might exaggerate, but its not on purpose. If I do lie, its some far fetched BS I say in which I assume people think I am BSing because of how far fetched it is.
