I can't believe how many people still support him and his family. If someone actually takes the time to read the unbiased reports that The Advocate is citing, the only conclusion you can reach is that the Cain family is absolutely corrupt and deserve to go to prison.

The Advocate is bringing LA corruption/political malfeasance to light and many of you baws hate them for it. Why? Because this guy "cleaned up" a prison?

Guess what, while he was cleaning UP a prison, he also cleaned OUT the taxpayers...

How many times have we all complained about the wasting of taxpayer $ by the gov't?

Today's article is a prime example of that abuse/waste yet some of you can't get passed your perception that all media is liberally biased.

I've seen Cain work a room a few times when I worked at the Legislature. He always seemed like the shady, good ole boy Louisiana politician from back in the days of Edwin Edwards. Had his little fiefdom and used it to wheel and deal for favors.

Which is exactly what the Advocate is uncovering is true. Sounds his son was cut from the same cloth.

That's the Louisiana way. It is accepted.

EWE would easily pull 40+% of the popular vote if he ran, no matter who he opposed.

This state has a strong undercurrent of Huey Long populists and I doubt it ever changes.

That's why Texas, Mississippi, and Alabama have all passed us by.

ALL kinds of this.

.... I don't always agree with every writer's attack pieces but this story is as right as rain. The Cain web in the dept of corrections is sickening... Had no clue.

For god's sake the guy sent to investigate Burl's son(the guy over investigations at the dept) just so happens to be Nate Cain's brother in law. I think the only person in a position of power that isn't related is the secretary himself. It's wild.

And the Secretsry is Cain's best friend who Cain got the job for.

Sometimes you can't make this shite up.

"My very best friend" is what Cain refers to his old boss as, iirc...

So we've got people who do get shite done, but are on the take versus people who don't get shite done who are also on the take. I'll stick with the former

Does not exist. I have been around the Advocate my whole life (mom and dad both worked there 35 years) and there is nothing unbiased in any article they write and has gotten much worse since old man Manship stepped down.

OK, so let's settle for truthful. Is it truthful? We can all interpret the facts for ourselves.

Please point out the fallacies.

HELLO!!!!

I wasn't fricking saying The Advocate was unbiased. I was saying they are referencing state auditor reports that are unbiased

Every media outlet adds some sort of editorializing but an educated reader should know how to filter the BS and arrive at their own conclusions

here's what I said:

quote:

If someone actually takes the time to read the unbiased reports that The Advocate is citing

Key words are "is citing" meaning they are referencing reports from state auditors...also implying the person should read the state auditor reports separate from The Advocate articles

I understand that thought and would probably agree with you if I did not think that there was a third option.

Option #3...You accept neither and create merit based system that allows properly talented people to ascend into these managerial roles without needing political appointments. The entire prison system should be subject to the oversight of the Supreme Court of LA.

Cain has always believed in old school justice within the prison. The liberal media has always had a problem with that.

Cain was actually pretty enlightened and brought a lot of innovative programs to Angola.
