Dad will tell you, " if you look at the 360k I spent over 12 years, it is a drop in the bucket to the 3 million he will get as a signing bonus"

This was in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram last week.

Thought about making an article about it.

This shite is pathetic. Whatever happened to just rec league ball. When I was growing up that's all everyone played. None of this travel ball select shite.

Banditos Black from Houston has been doing this for years. They flew a kid in to pitch one game in Shreveport 7-8 years ago. It was for an 11u Major tournament. He balked in the winning run.

we played three teams that draw from a long way as an 8u team, they weren't any better than the best local teams. We won 2 of 3. Louisiana had three teams consistently better than the Banditis Black or other similar 8u teams

There is one from Alabama that will beat your arse though

I'm in DFW right now to umpire the World Series that starts Saturday and goes through Wednesday. I'll be sure to be on the look out for this team.

Would it be frowned upon for an umpire to ask these kids who are future MLBers for autographs?

Maybe because the kids like to play the game

You think they are just handing out soccer, tennis, volleyball, swimming, softball, golf, scholarships left and right?

You ever see how crazy cheer mom and dad's are?

I think it'd be frowned upon if you didn't. Get that kid they fly in from Mexico. My money's on him to make the show

Nothing new. Florida (Chet Lemon) and Cali have had these teams for ten years at least.

The tournament is three or four days,

How do you spend 7500 a week in Gulf Shores and have anyone next to you?
