Red Foxes scream like banshees.
The first time I heard one, I was having a drink on my back deck at night. There were two of them screaming back and forth to each other. I just assumed it was escaped mental patients, total fricking psyhcopaths. I got my shotgun and loaded it up, and stood guard on the porch until I realized it was some kind of animal. After asking an outdoor forum for opinions, someone suggested fox. I youtubed it. Yes, foxes scream like insane escaped mental patients coming to kill you.

Swamp rabbits (canecutters) when hotly pursued by a pack of beagles will sometimes submerge themselves completely underwater with just their nose above the surface. Couldn't believe it the first time I saw it.

Chickens can use each eye independently to focus two different objects.
Left eye is far sighted,Right eye is near sighted. They can look for food with R eye while watching for predators with L eye.

Female cheetahs raise their cubs on their own. Male cheetahs do not assist with raising their cubs. The only reason male and female cheetahs even interact is to mate.
After the cubs are born, the male will go back to live in its coalition and leave the babies with their mother. The female cheetah will then take over raising the cubs, hunting for them, and keeping them safe from predators.
This is basically every big cat besides lions

By far the weirdest most disgusting animal on the planet is the Tazmanian Devil. Their entire lives are interesting random facts. Do yourself a favor and go down that rabbit hole.
One (of many) interesting facts about them is that humans can pick them up and they won't do anything.

Love Extinct or Alive w/ Forrest Galante.
His appearances on JRE are great episodes where they just talk the wonders of the natural world with incredible footage collected from all over the world for 3 hours. The footage of Forrest almost, like the lion was in full leap, being mauled to death before his African ranger dropped it with a slug from an Elephant gun is incredible!

Foxes scream as part of their mating rituals. Male and female foxes scream to attract a mate. A female fox will scream during the actual act of mating itself. Male foxes scream to mark their territory and warn off potential competitors for mates.
“Crazy like a Fox…”
quote:
This phrase originated in the 12th century and is linked to the natural behavior of foxes when hunting prey or escaping predators. When foxes are hunting, they will often leap about, spinning around and tumbling in a seemingly random fashion. Some believe that this behavior intrigues the foxes' prey.

The first time you hear them scream it will confuse the hell out of you. You'll never forget the sound, though.
