Tell me about Ocho Rios, Jamaica

I'm sure some of the OT ballers here can give me some pointers. Headed there to honeymoon next month (no pics of fiancé). Staying at an all inclusive resort (not sandals) but a smaller one.
We want to go into some parts of the island to look and shop and eat. TIA

I liked it there. It's away from Kingston which is what most associate with Jamaica when they say it's trashy. Beaches are really nice. Go to Ricks for sunset and drinks. Don't be a puss jump off the middle cliff the water is deeper than it looks. Check out margaritaville its on the beach open aired. Don't be scared to go shopping locally there.

We stayed at something like San Souci or something like that. It was pretty nice but I've been on so many trips I can't keep up.

We did Ocho Rios for ours and it was an absolute blast.
Do a couple of excursions but don't schedule a ton, just do a couple.
Do a booze cruise if they have one with a group that takes you to excavate the waterfalls.
There is no need to leave the resort.
Drink your arse off and take advantage of the all inclusive, especially Dirty Bananas.
Stay in a private Villa with private pool if its in your budget over a big hotel setting.
The food is pretty good for all inclusive, try a new restaurant every night. Have to try the jerk chicken that is offered by the pool cafe's. Stuff is incredible.

It may be full of people from the cruise ships but Green Grotto Caves and climbing Dunn's River Falls are two fun activities if you want to get out of the resort for a while.

Jamaica was great in 1991, but has gotten more trashy and more overtly racist than ever.
Couple those facts with the crime and anti-American sentiment and make your own decision.

Ocho Rios is one of the nicer spots in Jamaica, probably the nicest.
If you do an inclusive there really isn't a need to leave the resorts, there is a ton of shite to do.
The customer service was incredible when I was there, I was blown away.
