Hipsters don't bring crime.. They bring the votes and policies that eventually allow crime to flourish.

Move to Ferriday instead, much safer and more things to do like the KFC buffet or hanging by the barber shop.

Natchez has a lot of energy and good things going for it, the mayor cares a lot and has brought some industry back to the town. Lot of out of towners moving in recently. Movie industry has been a main stay the last 2 years and don’t see that changing anytime soon. Downtown is much better than the last couple years, a couple music festivals every year and balloon festival every October are the big tourism draws.

Natchez is a good place to disappear in.
This.

I have use of a studio apartment there (downtown).

Spend assorted weekends there.

The City is off the grid.

Natchez is nice to visit, but wouldn't want to live there. If I had to pick living in Natchez or Vicksburg, Vicksburg by a mile.

Yeah they are terrible and just started on a brand new high school, waste of money. 2 private schools in town for the working class or go to Concordia parish school system.

Natchez is great.
A little slower place of life.
Lower cost of living.

Great homes to buy or remodel.

Life on nearby Lakes Concordia or St. John are also good choices if you’re trying to slow down.

Pig Out Inn is good BBQ.

The Natchez yoga pants scene is underrated. A lot of them are former LSU sorostitutes.

Natchezans tend to be full of themselves and are kind of like uptown Nola in that anybody whose family hasn't been there for 150 years is considered an outsider

Pilgrimage has all the pretentious bullshite of Mardi Gras without any of the drunken festivities.

St Francisville has some of the same historic ambience and is more economically stable.

Natchez has come a long way in just a year. If it's been a few years since you have visited, you may not realize this. Over 70 new businesses have opened since 2020. If you go downtown, it is night and day difference between the number of buildings occupied and thriving than it was a couple of years ago. I was very concerned about Natchez a couple of years ago. Many downtown buildings were vacant. Natchez has multiple cruise lines that are in town every week. Viking cruise line will be in Natchez starting this year. If you get involved with the community and don't mind limited clothing, grocery, and franchise restaurants, Natchez is a good place to be. Overall, for a town of its size, I think Natchez has a lot going for it.

Did Tate Taylor ever build his studio, or are they working out of that beer distribution place across from the brewery?

This X1000. Mayor Dan coupled with Tate Taylor’s vision to bring the movie scene to Natchez has transformed the landscape over night.

Don’t be expecting a fruitful career or anything unless you work remotely. Even then it’s just a sleepy town and not close to anything interesting.
