There is a lack of diversity in the Houston burbs and it's schools.

Welp, Spring ISD "diversified," esp. along the I-45 corridor, and it promptly went to pot. It's gangland now. Google some of the brawls they have at Spring ISD. 20 years ago, it was Whitey McWhite.

Wish certain communities would get their shite straight or they're going to drag us all to the bottom.

My neighbors took their kid out of woodlands prep. Apparently it was taken over by someone new and they don't like it. Sending them to John Cooper now. I can maybe afford one kid there, but if we have more, there's no way.

jrodLSUke, thanks for your response - how old are your kids?

And thanks to whoever posted the link too.

Where in Humble? The Atascocita area has good schools.

You have to do your research in Atascocita. Elementary schools are hit and miss. Atascocita High is good, but Summerwood has a lot of work to do to improve.

My kids are Kindergarten and 3rd grade. We have them in Eagle Springs (good school) now, but we are building new elementary and middle schools in the Groves, which is where they will eventually go.

The new schools (The Groves) should be really good and will keep our property values strong.

Interesting. I assumed that was a good school. My niece will be going to AHS so its all I care about. She starts Atascocita middle next year.

Summer Creek High (Summerwood sub.) has improved a lot and probably is a good school. There was an issue a couple of years ago with low income students being bused into the district, but the residents put a stop to that. So, the main problem now is that Summer Creek still has the perception of having problems, but the word around the community is that it has corrected.

KHS grad here. Most of my peers became lawyers, doctors, architects, PhDs, etc. Looking back on it, we went to a pretty great school. It was probably one of the best public schools in America during that time, although I can't really speak to its current quality because I moved from there long ago and don't know anyone who still lives there (in fact, I heard there are now two high schools, so I don't know).
