Do you consider Baton Rouge a major city? LR population is about 204,000 and BR is about 16,000 more than LR.

Hot Springs Village, like most places has grown over the years. Obviously being gated, it provides a certain degree of privacy. Within the Village there’s five lakes, seven or eight golf courses, tennis, pickleball and who knows what else as far as exercise related activities. There’s a few restaurants in the Village plus restaurants at the clubhouses at the golf courses. The areas just outside the main gate and the east gate have grown as well. Restaurants, doctors, bldg. supply, etc. As far as housing, you can find anything you like. Condos, town homes, sticks and bricks. Some older, some new construction. But, if you have a boat that you keep trailered or motor home or camper, it’s a no-go in your driveway or property. Has to be stored off site.
As far as being far from a big city or airport, not really. Going out the east gate, you’re less than an hr from Benton/Bryant/Little Rock. An hr from Little Rock airport. This past summer they completed the spur of the bypass that runs from Hot Springs towards the Village. So now, it’s a 20 minute trip to the main gate from Hot Springs. But there is one round-a-bout to go through. Who the hell puts a round-a-bout in Arkansas? We can’t even handle a four way stop. Now a round-a-bout!?
Some have mentioned Bella Vista in NW Arkansas. They’re different but similar. But both were developed by the same company, Cooper Communities. NW Arkansas is truly turning into a metro. The growth in that neck of the woods is off the charts. Traffic on 540 at rush hour is a b!tch!
