That’s more like it.

My insight is that it is a small quiet country town, although I haven’t actually been there in years so not sure about development. You would certainly go there to be away from town. Lots of small agriculture properties.

I agree with another poster that schools will just be ok, most of the people with money will send their kids somewhere in Covington and not Folsom.

We used to play them in sports as kids. One year they would barely be able to field a team and the next they might have 2-3 teams with the best of those teams featuring guys with full beards, veins popping out of their arms and sometimes visible tattoos.

There’s not a lot out there. The Mexican restaurant is excellent tho.

NP.

Be sure to check flood elevations at the courthouse before you buy anything. The real estate people and developers over there lie like CNN. I was speaking online with a woman who bought her house in the old Tantella Ranch property (Spring Lake maybe?) in late 2015. Her builder told her this was some of the highest ground in the area and not prone to flooding; this was just a flat-out lie as her house, and every other one in the development, was up to the rafters in March AND August. I don't see how somebody could lie like that and not be held accountable. The silly thing is people are still building in the subdivision knowing its history of flooding, and the parish is still allowing houses to be built. Meanwhile, my cousin is trying to build her retirement house on high-and-dry land that's been in our family for 150 years and is getting the major run around from the parish. I guess DLSD and D.R. Horton can grease more political palms than my cousin.

I hope there is a little small town feel left somewhere around the northshore that isn’t ruined by all the New Orleans transplants.

Does Lee Road go through Folsom? My wife grew up there. She graduated from Covington High School. Her and her friends always joke about that place.

The LR area is next to Folsom to the east connected by Hwy 437/40. It’s strange to me, the drive on Lee Road even to the end where it turns into 1129 isn’t noticeably trashy, nor is the 437/40 drive but go into one of the gas stations or stores right there at barkers corner and you’ll see many examples of the culture. Where do they come from, the east in the Bush/Sun area? On the same token, there’s plenty of good country and middle class folk too.
