Of course. It’s an old private school in a small south Louisiana town.

Damn Jason. You still salty about those uniforms, huh? You gonna tell everyone you are an alum and have a kid there too or you want to just stay anonymous?

So much hate in this thread. Some of it is warranted, most is not. It’s amazing what we can say when we are anonymous, isn’t it folks?

You’re getting close, but no.

But I guess you’re another jasonb that has kids at all three (two) schools then, huh? LINK

RA post would probably help you right about now.

Damn Chad, you're like a private eye in this bitch today! Slow day at the station? Glad I didn't say anything I don't stand by. They're losing teachers, my son had a kid in his class last year that was a daily disturbance, even told the class white people sucked, and was never kicked out, and the previous principal sucked. I had my own personal run in with her, as have many other parents, and I no longer trusted her to make a single wise decision at that school, but, like I said, there's a new principal and I would still not hesitate, as I have in this thread, to recommend FRA as a top school in the parish, especially for elementary, but I'm not going to shite on stem. Hell, I'm sending FRA a check every month right now, so I must have faith in the school but I'm not gonna put lipstick on a turd and act as if it's FRA of 1991.

And other thing, I am still salty about the damn uniforms! How are they gonna say no logos like polo or Hilfiger on the pants so the poor kids don't get bullied, but have kids with shirts that their parents wouldn't pay the extra $5 for a damn logo? You might as well put a sign on them that says my parents are cheap. If the kids' daddy would skip 1 case of bud light that week, that would pay for the damn shirt.

JASON are you involved with the school other than sending a child and a check there?

Neither. If you have read the whole post you would know I am an alumn. And yes the school started then and just like the other private schools of the era but we have found a way to survive

Involved in what way? My Kid doesn't play sports, nor do I give a shite about sports, unlike a lot in this parish. What I AM involved in is communicating regularly with the teachers and spending hours every night helping my son study, which is reflected in his outstanding grades that I'm quite proud of. I regularly write notes of thanks to his great elementary teachers, which they can both vouch for. I'm the parent other parents call to find out what their kid forgot in class. That's how I'm involved. I'll send my $200 "work fee" this year, but I'm not mowing the damn grass or getting involved with the small town politics or sports at the school.

Honestly man, the prior principal pissed me off so badly that it left a very sour taste in my mouth. But with her gone I have more faith in the school and I hope it does succeed. My son loves it there and has many friends I'd hate for him to lose.

Nah, not my thing. I'd rather pay their fee so they can do their thing with it and let me focus on my sons education rather than promoting an auction night. Events and sports are not my thing. Not to mention I have zero free time during the week with traveling for work and kids. And me and Chad would probably butt heads on what color to paint the spirit sign.

Not sure if it has changed, but their baseball field is a joke. The fence is so close that a routine pop fly is a home run there. And the umps in the entire are shady as hell. I'd either go to the STEM academy or move to West Felisha.

You wouldn't pick a school because the fence on the baseball field is too close? Damn baw, you must be from Pointe Coupee!

Hey look I am not bashing you BUT when you put things on social media that portray our school in a bad light, I have a problem. I know that the people that are involved here are doing this because they want to, not because they are forced. That is what makes us a family there. For ever FRA

I Don’t know if it matters at this point in the thread, but almost everybody we are friends with send there kids to Point Coupee Catholic. I know and have people in my family that went to both. I honestly havent heard many complaints about FRA and CHSPC,but I stay out of all the small town politics crap.
People have had a lot of good things about the STEM school also.

I think it’s comes down to the student and parents ultimately.
