My son just started 8th grade.... 1st semester is Photoshop and Illustrator, 2nd semester is Dreamweaver. Not thrilled that they are using COTS software, but it should give him some basics to get started.
Another option is Udemy courses are pretty cheap but the ones I've looked at were full of useful content.

There's plenty of stuff online to get kids of all ages coding.
Don't spend a fortune till you know they'll like it.

Checkout scratch online. I’ve been teaching my son since he was about 7.

I run a digital agency in Colorado, and we've got a Code Ninjas in most of the major suburbs here. As others have said, Scratch is the go-to for getting kids interested in coding. From there, you can look at more specific Udemy courses to cater towards their interests.
College is dead, any fool that signs up for six figures of debt for a useless degree is a moron. Kudos for getting your kids interested in coding. Make sure they have some exposure to the trades as well.

Since you don't mention the child's age, strongly recommend Python as a language and a Raspberry Pie as a beginning 'computer.'
And if you haven't heard about Khan Academy, it's time to familiarize yourself with it for now and the future. Not only do they have coding videos, but it's a treasure trove of instruction in math, science, etc.

Good they can compete with kids from China, India, and Brazil that have been coding since they were in diapers

Coding jobs like software developer or data science for a company like Amazon pay well initially out of college, but there's not much upward mobility in something like data science. If you're in finance or engineering, there is.
Rarely do you see a CEO was in data science or software dev.
Yeah those damn guys like Gates, Jobs, and Zuckerberg are all idiots
