Yep. That area is bigger than it looks from the road too. There are hundreds of units. It's basically a smaller Gardere now.

They are all falling down, paint coming off, roofs caving in...and trash cans...trash cans everywhere all the time.

Did St. Jean go up early 1990s?

I believe that's when they did. They flooded though and aren't all section 8 now. The apartments where this happened are much older. I lived there around 2000 and they were old back then.

Yeah I remember when that Ochsner was new, now it looks like an old rundown prison.

People in that area raised hell when the St. Jean apartments were proposed. Everybody knew that area was going to go downhill, but you were a racist if you said anything.

There aren't too many places in BR that aren't within a few miles of a bad neighborhood.

St. Jean Apartments were the beginning of the death of that particular stretch of BR.

Glad to see that area not being left out of the BR'r murder totals. Could had been another local shitty rap video shoot gone wrong. It's the right area for it.

You could go way out in the country in Central/Pride maybe. Might be the occasional methy trailer but there won't be regular murders going down
