The new Colorado and Canyon are very good trucks. I prefer their engine over the Tacoma’s. The interior on the GM trucks seem to be nicer too.

I like the Tacoma a lot though. I just don’t think it’s what it used to be or what it should be. The Canyon, Colorado, and the new Ranger are knockouts too.

My outside favorite is also the Frontier with the V6.

Isn't GM having issues with the turbo 4 cylinders?

No actually the Turbomax has been a very solid motor. People don’t like that it’s a 4 cylinder. But it’s a good motor for what it is.

Stupid high torque output too.

really like my canyon. Only thing I want is a few more inches of bed room and bench seats

I went from a Silverado to the Canyon. Can space is missed, but the bed is surprisingly accommodating

My Colorado is 10 years old with 245k miles. So far I've changed the tires, battery, brakes and general maintenance. No actual repairs yet, so it has been a great truck.

It rides great and handles better than the 2003 silverado I had before it. It is also easier to park in garages and lots. The GMC is generally the same, with a higher trim level.

That said, I'm not sold on the 4 cyl turbo max that they all have; I prefer my v6 to the new engines.

Drove a Tacoma for 247,000 trouble free miles but if in the market today, I agree 100% with the previous poster on the 6 cylinder Frontier.

Toyota get your s-it together.
Bad decisions !!!!!!

How has Chevy/GMC quality vs. Current Toyota?

Buy any new Toyota vehicle on a truck chassis if you love to hear your brakes squeal loud enough to crack glass.

Toyota is currently “investigating”. Meanwhile your brakes are loud as frick.

I’ll sacrifice a little comfort for longevity. I’m not ready to go all in on the UAW just yet. I’ve put 450,000+ trouble free miles in 2 Toyotas.

I will buy a Lada before I buy anything from GM

The new canyons are sweet looking, esp the AT4. Best looking truck out there besides the heavy duty sierra and Silverado.

That's where my heart is at. V6 ftw

The water pump is in a bad location, though. If it goes out, it's a costly repair. Otherwise, my vote is likely with the frontier. Especially for the cost difference. Even if I secretly want the taco more, damn is it 15k+ more than the Nissan. I could do a lot with 15k

The Ranger now has the proven (FAR more proven than the Nissan V6) 2.7 Nano TT V6 from the F150, Edge Sport, and several other applications available. Yes, it has two turbos. Get over it. F150's with that engine are common on AutoTrader with 200k+ miles.
