I think there could be some gov blowback on this if T-Mobile uses any gov infrastructure. That's probably a long shot though. Best recourse is for people to simply stop using T-Mobile.

Because T-Mobile is not the government doing the monitoring.

What gives T Mobile the right to levy and collect fines for behavior they deem unsavory?

I’m not well versed but isn’t phone service a type of utility? Aren’t they regulated? I’m ignorant on this stuff just passing what I’ve heard

Bigger question is why are we being monitored without a warrant

You agreed to it by signing up for their product.

Just use a third party app with encryption and t mobile can't read anything you say.

T mobile is mostly for democrats anyway so I'm fine with this if it puts away some of the riff raff.

What would be the reason this is unenforceable?

Yup. This is the solution. Other providers will start doing the same thing as T-Mobile anyway.

I don’t think just because it’s in its in the TOS it’s enforceable. Denying service might be enforceable. But levying a punitive fine??

It looks like this just applies to messaging programs, not to actual users? Am I reading this right (this is from the Vonage link on the 1st page)

quote:

5.1 Unlawful, Unapproved, or Illicit Content
No messaging programs

quote:

Programs must operate

quote:

7 Age Gating
T-Mobile may, at its discretion and at any time, suspend, terminate, or not Approve any Messaging Program

Name one other product or service that issues damages if you use that product in a way they determine unfit?

Possibly unenforceable, but you’ll likely spend more money hiring an attorney and going through their arbitration procedures before figuring it out

Seems uncomfortable.

Banks may deny service. But they don’t issue fines.

Sounds like if you text someone a picture of a bud of weed, you have agreed to be fined up to a thousand dollars.

Not that I think ATT is better, but I need a new phone so I guess this is a good time to switch.

Pixel 6 Pro has connection issues, thought it was just where I work, but seems pretty widespread. Can get the 8 Pro for free.
