Highly unlikely he/she would be flying a Columbus based T-38.

The last I heard was a while back and I think they said he was in a T-4.

Did you marry a W girl? They warned us about them on like the third day of UPT.

Edit: Our assignments at CBM overlapped. I was there December 2012 to February 2014.

Marines in Meridian. Only USAF student pilots and foreign exchange student pilots at Columbus in T-38s.

Probably a T-45. He'll be landing on a boat one day.

T-38 has been in service since 1961. Being replaced by joint Saab/Boeing built the T-7.

About 10 miles. This is heart wrenching.

It's past time for it. T-38 is a tired airframe.

Absolutely not commenting on this crash, just noting that the 38's have been getting flown hard for 50+ years. Newest ones were built in the early 70's

I was a -38 IP at Laughlin for 4 years. Always hits close to home when this happens. Wife doesn’t want me to go back to AETC. Nickel on the grass for 2 great Americans...

My son is currently training at Laughlin - never like to hear these things but I guess it’s part of the deal.

God bless those pilots...

Haha, we are good friends. Great description of the dude, but he and his wife are good friends of ours.

What phase is he in? I did both pilot training, and 5 years later instructed there.

He was in my flight at SOS. We were the only two pilots, so it was us against them. He made fun of me for flying slow airplanes and I made fun of him for not being able to run half a mile. Good dude.

He hated AETC and made a point of all his patches being squeaky clean aside from the majcom

Haha, and now he does both. You an LSU guy? I’m an 08 guy, flying BUFFs at Barksdale. We might know each other.

No, La Tech. I've got LSU season tickets if that counts.

Maybe, but doubt it. Went to CBM for UPT and fly 130s at Maxwell in the reserves.

He mentioned doing an LSU@AU flyover a few years ago with an LSU guy in the formation. That you? Think it was Les' last game. I was in the stands

He was in my jet for that flyby. Good memories. One of those guys from that fly by has already perished. It’s a tough business we are in, and the fact that we make it look easy gives me confidence.
