We just all need to move out of this shithole state for good.

It's eased up out here where I am for the moment. Hopefully you get some elevation back during the lull.

I drove down Manchester and McCown just now and both of those roads are water topped in several places.

This is absolutely terrible. Might be worse from a rain standpoint then some hurricanes. This seems abnormal to me for this area.

Houston is the same way. There were areas that flooded during the September thunderstorms in 2019 that didn't flood at all during Harvey.

It just depends on the river and ground conditions when the storm hits. I know the Calcasieu was already high before this storm hit so I expect Moss Bluff to get some flooding in low lying areas.

I can't believe they haven't done anything to raise that area. I also can't believe people try to drive through there. That intersection has swallowed so many vehicles.

It a major drainage point for downtown. I doubt they can raise it.

When I went to St. Louis we had a random bad storm like this during the summer. We had to help 2 cars that got swept into the ditch. When the waters started going down we realized there was a third and never knew it.

They did a huge project 4 or 5 years ago but it's not enough for this sort of day.

I believe some of those streets are designed to become drainage during heavy rainfall. Most people know not to drive through them during heavy rain. They could likely use some better signage to warn people though.

The cross streets between Ernest and Ryan, south of College are super low and prone to flooding also.

Then again the canopener is marked better than any overpass in the world and people still drive box trucks under it.

Here's a look from Google street view of a Tahoe in the intersection for reference to the height of the roof of the other vehicle.

I have two kids there now. They normally walk through this intersection to after school to hang out at a friend's house until I pick them up.

yea that's gotta be the worst part of LC as far as flooded roads go

I live between Ryan and Common and I've seen Common claim quite a few vehicles. I know here in the past few years LC has done a lot of upgrades on drainage. Ryan gets a shite ton of water but drains pretty quick. On the west side of Ryan around Claude and Oak there are some pretty low lying intersections. I lost the front valance on one of my previous trucks there.

No break in this heavy rain until like 5 or 6 tonight. I think my house will be fine but we have an apartment/mother-in-law suite on our property that I am starting to be concerned about. Water is getting close to it. We need a break or something needs to drain faster.
