if society thought this guy would be in jail for the remainder of his life, based solely on his previous crimes, it might be willing to accept more gun regulations ...
but we know this guy's type doesn't do any real time for those kinds of crimes ...

A relative was on a grand jury and they indicted 514 of 516 cases. An indictment is a formality, this is an outrage assuming there is at least some probable cause.

"We have certainly been discussing this case extensively for the last few weeks," Cannizzaro said. "Unfortunately, we are not in a position right now, based upon the information and evidence that we have, to present this to a grand jury for purposes of indictment. I'm hoping that's going to change in the next few weeks. But at this time, out of a sense of fairness, we cannot present what we have to the grand jury and ask for an indictment."
wtf

Maybe you should call and give the DA some help, or at least the info you have.. Supposedly there are a lot of holes in the investigation and they didn't want to frick it up by moving too quick.

Well.
He's an accused, not proven guilty, not even indicted man who has been sitting in jail for 4 months.
I agree that what he's accused of is brutal and fricked up, but I hope yall aren't arguing for the legality of nolimit detention of innocent citizens when the DA himself says there isn't even enough evidence to think about a grand jury yet.
Unless yall are all pissed at nopd and Leon. Which I agree with.

NOPD has a manpower issue, just ask the 4 officers that were camped out all week writing seatbelt tickets on Calliope!
The mayor of New Orleans and NOPD leadership don't know their arse from a hole in the ground...completely incompetent.
