Camel racing is big in the Middle East, know some guys that were over there in the 80's and said it was wild.
Aspy, if you are old enough and from KY do you remember them at the track in Henderson in the 70's? Seems they used to have local "celebrities" as the jockeys.
As to the point, you can gamble on just about anything and with camels and ostriches you have some variables for the jockeys getting tossed.

That sucks. I used to go watch the dog races at that dumpy track just east of Tallahassee.
