What are you towing and how often?
People shite on the ecoboost, but it is a great driving engine.
Ecoboost tows great. But Id prefer a solid rear axle if towing a lot. Suburbans are going full indy in 2020, Ford has been there for a while now

Love our 2018 expedition. Great gas mileage, rides great, very usable 3rd row, and seemed to have a few more bells and whistles than the Tahoe we looked at.

seems like a big vehicle for a V6.
I have driven V6's in smaller suv's and trucks have not been impressed. The torque or something maybe the sound just seems like the V8 is more substantial.
Just mash down on the pedal harder. It scoots like a scalded ape - even for a 4wd XL.
Drove it extensively in Big Bend/Davis mountains last summer packed to the gills with luggage and people. It never even broke a sweat.

If you are in absolute need right now, Expo.. The Suburban Body style is about to change and it will be revealed in April and available later this year.
Suburban will finally get independent rear suspension with that platform change
FWIW... I'm getting a New Tahoe when they are released. I've never liked the Expo personally.

Sheepdog:
If towing is important to you please disregard.
If you are looking for a people hauler consider access to the third row of seats. It is often nearly impossible to utilize the rear or third row of seats .
For people hauling, adults or children, Honda Odessy Van is the tits

Everything about the new style and look Expedition is great. Finally, it is more appealing that a GM product for sure. Really nice SUV

Ecoboost has plenty power but do you trust the reliability compared to the Suburban V8?

Any word on the new Tahoe/Suburban redesign?

i'm in a Ram now and love it. but it doesn't have shite on the ecoboost.
with that said, i won't drive the ecoboost again until they do something about the jet engine sounding electric fan.

Rented a Suburban 5.3L in the Seattle area. Took it off-road. Found the 4x4 was capable but the body rolled pretty harshly over simple ruts
The seats were really comfortable but the lack of adaptive cruise kinda sucked on the ride to Whistler BC
Overall I was impressed but certain little things were disappointing

Thanks all. This is mostly a little people mover. Very light trailer towing rarely. We have a highlander now but have started taking road trips more often so the extra cargo space is needed.
Seriously, it sounds like you need an Odyssey or Sienna, if your ego can handle it. Save money on purchase and gas, easier to drive, more room inside.
158 ft^3 - Odyssey
150 ft^3 - Sienna
122 ft^3 - Suburban and Expedition Max
