Settle down.
You said Mets predicted 10-12" for New Orleans.
I asked for a link.
You failed to provide any single forecast calling for 10"+ for New Orleans. You don't seem to understand the difference between discussing possibilities and an actual forecast. Perhaps that explains your disdain for professional meteorologists.

St George right in the tight right front quadrant. Hope we don’t get a big storm surge up Jones Creek.

I gave you all the information you asked for and still can’t digest it.

Do you understand a forecast is different than discussing what is possible with a weather system? Yes or no answer will suffice.

Y’all need to go have a miller high life and bang it out behind the bar

Nah, as someone else said, a good e-fight for a few pages is the hallmark of any decent storm thread.

Hurricane Irma still hasn’t turned north

Do you understand the difference between a prediction and a forecast?
Because I specially said....
quote:
I hope you’re right but the professional meteorologist have already predicted 10”-12” of rain through Monday for NOLA.
You asked me for a link and I gave you several...
I never said anything about a forecast....
Are you done yet?
I'll answer that for you...
quote:
A forecast refers to a calculation or an estimation which uses data from previous events, combined with recent trends to come up a future event outcome. Forecast implies time series and future, while prediction does not. A prediction is a statement which tries to explain a “possible outcome or future event”.
I think we are done here

Probably the GOAT "muh gut feelings" thread ever. "storms don't just turn on a dime like that."

That radar loop in the OP does not update in real time. Maybe someone else can find one that does.
RDS was the one that I stole a similar link from for one of the other storms. Maybe he knows of a radar loop that refreshes continuously.
ETA: Updated radar loop...

t00f update from yesterday
Dry air will continue and most of the rain will break off and hit Fl.
Nola area, 1 inch of rain, 24 mph wind for 4-6 hours.

Once again, you don't even know the meanings of the statements you're reading.
You think your earlier links are predictions? Jesus, your comprehension is lower than I originally thought.

I’m with you. I don’t expect much. Maybe 4”-5” through Monday. Nowhere near the 10” they predicted.

Some of these people just want shite to happen.

Wasn’t there a storm last year that they said would dump a ton of rain and it ended up being nothing? I don’t remember the name but I do remember the rain forecast being way off.
Posted on 6/6/20 at 5:27 pm to catholictigerfan
Barry wasn’t supposed to dump a ton of rain everywhere. It was supposed to dump a ton of rain in a couple of narrow bands. They just missed the location. People forget because it took 24 hours after landfall but north of Lafayette got dumped on and flooded really badly. The dry air and most of the the rain dissipating as Barry made landfall makes people forget that.
