While we're dealing with tropical weather, the NWS is also issuing alerts for heavy snowfall in the Pacific Northwest over the next two days.

FWIW, the 18z 3km NAM model really shunts the heavy rain west into the Livingston/EBR/Ascension area. As you'd imagine, that includes the highest gust potential as well. 50-60 mph in this same area.

As I figured, you're full of shite.

I just went through the archived QPFs since yesterday and the NWS never had New Orleans or anywhere else along the GoM getting 10"+.

That was this afternoon prediction after they backed off the 10”-12” yesterday and this morning.

And it says 6”-10”

I’m talking about yesterday

You need to pay closer attention if you’re going to be a internet weatherman.

I hate when I have to hold a grown man's hand

4-12 inches of rain possible

quote:

Rainfall totals over the eastern and central Gulf Coast, including Louisiana, are expected to be between 4 and 8 inches, with local amounts of 12 inches possible, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Some locations could see between 10 and 15 inches

quote:

Rainfall totals of 4 to 6 inches are expected across much of the area, with a broad area from the mouth of the river through New Orleans and Baton Rouge expected see 6 to 10 inches. Some locations could see between 10 and 15 inches if they are caught under rainfall banding features.

I went through NWS New Orleans tweets and the NWS archives and you're completely full of shite.

Even checked the local mets' Twitter feeds and local news.

Not sure why you'd make up something that is archived and so easy to verify.

Ahh, I see. You simply have awful reading comprehension if you took that to mean New Orleans was expected to have 10-12" of rain. Dear Lord.

You took that to mean this...

quote:

I hope you’re right but the professional meteorologist have already predicted 10”-12” of rain through Monday for NOLA.

Bro, that's not a meteorologist nor is it a forecast.

Good try though. Sorry it confused you, sincerely. There is a difference between what's possible and what's forecast. Important distinction.
