I hate self checkout anyway. It takes 15 minutes to figure out.

What I think would be a terrific idea would be to put the barcode scan on all six sides of a box and on both sides of any other packaging.
It's a 1x2 in rectangle. I'm sure they could figure out another spot to put it where it won't take my eyes off of their product.

This is where I think they got self checkout wrong. The self checkouts have tiny unloading areas that cause all sorts of issues with the sensors and allow for "oops I didn't scan that one" theft. If they use the longer conveyers with scanners overhead and side, we should be able to just unload everything on one end, and bag on the other with everything fully checked.

Be glad you dont have a Homeland Grocery Store. 5 check out stands and only 1 person checking we were 14 deep. I wish they would install self checkouts.
