Had a great Christmas with Family and friends in BTR on Monday, then some type of stomach flu has stricken several of us including me ( nausea, diarrhea, etc). Is this stuff going around??

stomach "flu" is a colloquialism for stomach 'bug' or 'virus' It isn't actualy any kind of flu.

I had it right before Thanksgiving. Diarrhea and vomiting for the first 12-24 hours, but I ran fever for a week.

had the stomach bug the weekend before last. About 10 days ago. Latest 2-3 days with severe diarrhea, low grade fever, chills, aches. Then, poof, it was gone. Still felt tired for almost a week after it, though.

Yep. Not many people call it Norovirus

Edited to add: it’s spread via fecal contamination. Lovely, huh? Wash your hands, people!

Not the flu. It's either norovirus or rotatvirus or something similar. It comes from ingesting poo or vomit particles so you have some nasty, non-hand washing heathens in your family to thank for it.

I looked it up and actually told my wife I have the norovirus.

Her: "the what?"

Me: "stomach bug!"

Her: "oh."

In my case I had a quick trip to DC to thank for it. No way to avoid shite in that place.

Yeah, it's pretty gross if you think about it too much. If I'm out in public and grabbing door handles, I'm heading to the nearest bathroom and washing my hands before I eat. I've had that shite and it laid me out for nearly 4 days. Never again if I can help it.

Correct usually. Though in some people the flu does cause GI issues

Maybe the brother just likes to ingest poo or vomit?

yes...but stomach issues with no other symptoms is not usually related to the true flu/influenza, that's what I meant.
