mean, yeah, I get that. I'm kinda playing devil's advocate here. I was just reading the DOJ report and it seems like the details about the gun pointed at Sterling's head could be an important detail in how this case was decided.
Based on the DOJ ruling I'd assume the gun was pointed at his head from several feet away.
If an officer had a gun pointed at his head via being against his temple, there would have been a whole different press conference this afternoon.
Although his family's dumbass attorney probably completely misunderstood the statement.....or he's being purposefully obtuse. Both are possible

Should they have pointed the gun at his foot instead? Would that have made the kill a good kill for those people?

I think we should all agree we are missing protest

Yeah, and I'm going on what should have happened if what the Sterling family said was true. If he threatened to kill him, that gives an entirely new angle to this part of the investigation:
quote:
Additionally, to prove that a shooting violated section 242, the government must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the officers acted willfully. This high legal standard – one of the highest standards of intent imposed by law – requires proof that the officer acted with the specific intent to do something the law forbids. It is not enough to show that the officer made a mistake, acted negligently, acted by accident or mistake, or even exercised bad judgment.

Alton behaved like a felon who was caught breaking multiple laws. Twice. He did this exact same thing a few years ago and could have died then had he got his hand on the gun in his pocket and had it not randomly fallen out. In this instance, he got his hand on it and paid the ultimate price.
Period.

I don't get what is the big deal about the gun to the head thing. The cop isn't exactly a cashier at Chick-Fil-A. Frankly I wish the legislature would pass a law that if you are caught on a body cam running from the cops or fighting the cops they can just shoot you...no questions asked. Just do what the frigin cops tell you to do regardless of how much it hurts your feelings.

Gee. To bad there are those pesky Constitutional amendments standing in the way of your wishes.
We're you born that stupid or we're you dropped on the head?

Right. And I have to say, its a bit fishy to me that the family's press conference was delayed just long enough to happen at the same time as the DOJ press conference.
