Not sure what your hearing, but there is no testing going on.

We have a camp on the West Pearl... in the winter during duck season, when the swamp was thinned out, our camp would literally shake when they did booster testing..

Is there a schedule?
I can hear the tests from my house in Slidell most of the time. Depending on wind direction and what engines are being tested. Always have since I was a kid 1980 till now. Some of the latest engines will rattle my windows.
I heard yesterday evening what I thought was testing as well around 7Pm while sitting on my patio. But then I didn't hear it. Thought maybe the wind direction was causing the sound to not stay consistent.
Not sure what I was hearing now that you say there was not a test burn.

Rolls’ tests are super loud sometimes. I think they run the jet engines without any dampening in early development. I don’t know anyone out here who knows their schedule though.

When they used to test 5 engines at the same time, you could hear it in Baton Rouge.

I’ve been wanting to try Murky Waters over there, but we don’t get that way for drinks often. Ate at Samurai last night, it’s a great sushi joint.
Shaggy’s if on the coast, Felix’s down toward Biloxi.
I’m more familiar with the BSL side of this coast, but it’s a bit of the same style. TBT is mostly the same as a Shaggy’s, maybe a bit cooler. Trapani’s, Field’s (new), Cuz’s, 200, Mockingbird...
