I beg to differ; it's easy to drive drunk. We ALL know that. And whilst getting a hummer? I'm in that subset too. Seemed like a good idea at the time.....
It's difficult to drive drive drunk at a high rate of speed at night with a ho bag distracting you on a curvy road AND keep the car on all four wheels or out of a Lake or from hitting another car or fixed object.
Officer Bra found the water with his shot.
That BR's finest did not have the State boys work this incident is reason for severe discipline. The offending officer is gone, that's a given. Law enforcement agencies can't work an incident involving one of their own.

This shows BRPD known as Kip Holden's thug force is out of control.
1. Another dept should be investigating both responding officers covering this up and the officer involved. If no blood or urine test was done everyone from the officers who responded to the call to human resources need to be immediately terminated.
2. All officers and supervisors covering this up should be fired and charges filed against them.
3. To solve this all BRPD vehicles need to be parked after shift at their station.
No City or parish vehicles should be allowed to be driven home for personal use.
Anyone who breaks this rule should be automatically terminated.
Other large depts do this what makes kip Holden's thug force any different.
All this shows is the BRPD no longer serves the people of Baton Rouge and need to be disbanded.

But let's be real here, if he wasn't BRPD he'd have gone to jail like he should have.

what else you guys are doing. Perhaps if the department was straightened out our crime rate would go down. NOPD should not be the model that BRPD tries to emulate.
But violent crime is down 30% in the last two years, so something is working

I bet they took him home so he could sober up to write tickets to people the next day.
This shows BRPD officers are trash and need to go!
I never heard of a dept investigating their own officer in a traffic
accident.
When the public has no confidence in the dept the dept no longer serves the people.
Cars you don't need them to drive home.
I lived in other cities where officers parked cars after their shift.
I think police union which most of the members don't live in Baton Rouge don't see
it coming to an end. I see one big dept coming where they can fire donut eating out of shape hacks at will.
Let's bring back yearly PT test which other depts do require.

BRPD must suck balls. Police over here totally different but they live here and are out in public a lot. Get their asses chewed on hard by citizens if they f'k up. Saw a big ole cajun girl chewing out a young cop the other day - cop was slouching back in his seat trying not to let people see him.

BRPD abuses the citizens who complain about crime.
I came home to watch a BRPD officer verbally abuse my 71 year old father and threaten to beat him up if he kept complaining about drug problems.
Then BRPD covered it up and none of the officers we complained to were from Baton Rouge.
My father did not deserve that and had a right to complain.
Instead he was basically assaulted by a BRPD officer.
If you complain they will come after you an threaten to beat you like the did to my father.
Funny I also haven't seen crime go down.
Ask the former city police guy who ran for sheriff they cover things up.
Until we get a new mayor not controlled by BRPD Kip Holden thugs the avg citizen in trouble while they run loose thuggin this town up.

Yeah idk about all that, but BRPD is pretty pathetic

Violent crime is just like LSU football, we can't expect to finish in the top ten every year. We had a good run the previous 2 years and lost a lot of good kids. We are in the midst of our thug rebuilding years. Proof is we have stopped our decline in the homocides and are holding steady.
BTW, if you added guys committing suicide while handcuffed, while in cruiser after being frisked to violence crime stat, how much does it change?

I know we always hear stories, but here's my experience with BRPD.
Standing by a random truck outside the bar with two <21 year old girls. Had just got to the bar and none of us had even had a drop of alcohol.
Cop pulls in saying he saw us throw a beer can in the truck bed after he saw some there. We all loled and said no you didn't. He gets all pissy and threatens a public intox charge. We lol again and I tell him I'll gladly take a breathalyzer. Then he threatens disorderly conduct or interfering in an investigation or some bullshite. Dude was angry at something from the second he stepped out the car.
He was a fricking joke, and I've had other similar experiences with BRPD.
It's funny no one ever really complains about the sheriffs. I wonder why?

Didn't that happen in New Iberia, not BR?
(I'm not saying BRPD is infallible, because as evidenced in the handling of this case, obviously they have issues.)
