You’re arguing with an attorney. You aren’t going to agree on anything

I know it must piss you off to have gone to law school, work long hours and have an Insurance salesman make more than you do annually.

Last time I checked profit equals payments minus claims. Wouldn't the hurricane claims be included in those profits

Thought you didn’t sell? You must be pissed that you actually have to work and find people better rates. You used to sit on your arse and collect premium commissions.

State Farm doesn't write flood insurance, so I don't see why they would be concerned with flooding risk for homes.

Didn’t click the link but I got a text out of the blue from a local agents office yesterday with a quote attached (I’d shopped around last year so they had my info) and it was way more than double my current car insurance cost. They’re smoking crack up there.

An auto policy will cover flood which I believe was stated.

Louisiana needs to come up with some sort of "no fault" threshold for minor fender benders instead of an instant $20k frivolous injury settlement payment. Of course that is 80 to 90% of the pure ambulance chaser business comes from so it will be a tough sell in the legislature.

I don’t sell, I have an entire team that does that for me. I don’t have to find people better rates, I represent one company.

Why do we need agents? Seems your outfit is most of the cost. And when I have a claim the agent provides me the claim 800- number. Only time I hear from agent is when they’re trying to sell me some bullshite or “lemme quote your autos”

Sell you some bullshite huh? Like life insurance? you don’t need an agent, go with a direct company and you’re good to go. My commission is an extremely small percentage of premium.

Based on the conversations constantly going on here, yall need someone who actually knows how insurance works but sure pick your own coverages and then say insurance is a scam because it doesn’t pay out over your limits.

Doesn’t matter to me, plenty of people value having an agent.

Don’t you sell insurance, too?

You and DCdoucheTiger sure are getting defensive now that folks aren’t reflexively swallowing whatever LABI is selling them

it ain't defensive. we just continue to dance to the same ole song. governor thinking we can big dog insurance companies and do things our way on our terms that aren't even here, won't be coming here and really rather get the frick outta here is not the solution to anything.

attorneys are way more biased in this matter than an insurance agent. i'm arguing trying to lower premiums and the ability to increase competition in the marketplace in the state when i make money off commissions. good luck explaining that like i'm a jerkoff for doing so.

Tort reform has done good things in FL, rates have gone down about 10-15% on auto and have stayed flat on HO. Companies have entered the market and more competition is a good thing.

Dumbasses make it all about commission. If I have a 10 million dollar book I’m taking a 10% haircut from any rate decrease and I’m perfectly fine with that. I care more about competition in the market.

An injury attorney acting as if insurance agents are the ones with the most to lose is just peak irony.

Answer me this: I’ve never had an at-fault nor have I needed my liability insurance in any way in 30+ years of driving. Why does the liability portion comprise 80% of the cost of my auto premium?

Agents in my experience don’t do shite after the sale (private ins not commercial), except attempt to sell me shite I don’t need. Maybe you’re different.
