Yea I get that and they should be held to a high standard but calling him a PoS over one incident where he was a passenger is silly.

IDC for his schtick but I don't get shitting all over the guy either.

No. But she was/is a young nurse at local hospital and no doubt got put into the probation program after that. I bet she's still getting a higher frequency of random drug/alcohol tests at work 5 years later.

Like I said earlier. If he was really sorry he would do a PSA on drunk driving live streamed. But that would hurt his revenue now that it's all he got.

He wasn't driving. I'm sure since you're without sin, since you're judging everybody, that you've never been driving a boat and had too much to drink? I'll tell you being drunk in a boat is different than a car. You can't just pull over and start walking. Well, you probably can, it sounds like you can walk on water.

You’ve never made a mistake?

You seem to be going hard in the paint on him. Please tell us, o’great and omnipotent arbiter of justice, what should his punishment be.

Right. You can not like him. That’s cool. But what the f do these people want? Tarred and feathered? Public beheading?

I more disappointed in the idiots that are defending him.

Shows the true character of some on here.

I don’t think it’s crazy that a state trooper should lose his job over something like this

Yea he lost his job. His mistake cost him already. Calling him a PoS for something as minor as the incident is going a bit far.

Mistakes happen. He was the passenger and didn't intentionally hurt anyone.

My character is pretty terrible. I could never be a cop. I'd be letting people off for crimes I perceived as victimless.

All speeding tickets would be forgiven for a HJ or BJ. I'd never meet my quota.

We tried like hell to get her to call a sober friend or family member to come take responsibility for driving her car so she could avoid a DWI. I explained to her she would be much better off paying that person's fines and/or increased insurance premiums over the next 3 years than taking a DWI.

So what you were encouraging her to do is rope her friend into making false statements to police, engage in insurance fraud and god knows what else. Good looking out for the drunk driver and the potential friend you were about to put in a world of shite… btw, I had a dumbass hit me and then start harassing me to wait until her friend to arrives to call the cops. Told her she could go frick herself. I wasn’t gonna let her get me drug into bullshite

Yep. I was gonna lie to the cops too. Don't leave that part out. I was just giving her the chance to save her bacon. I would have appreciated that same courtesy at her age if I found myself in a similar situation.

I haven’t kept up with this recently but didn’t he drive the vehicle away while the boat driver hid in the back?

But in the process you were putting not only her in more legal jeopardy but potentially her innocent friend, yourself and your SO. Did you think a cop was not going to ask questions when he showed up to an accident and the registered vehicle owner is drunk? How were you going to explain away the friend’s vehicle on the scene?

You sarcastically say you were gonna lie too, but that’s exactly what you’d have to do when the cop asks you did you see who was driving.

Yeah he was more involved I believe then just "not calling the police".

If he committed a crime in helping his friend, I can see losing his job. Sucks, but you can't commit a crime like that as an officer.

I also think it would have been very easy for them to just do something like demote him or put his career on standby and let him work a year behind a desk if he really only had a year left.

But you know what, how often does someone say "I only have a year left I can't screw up my pension"
