I look at it like this. If the public library is going to pull this shite, pull their funding. Every time a millage comes up for renewal, vote no. Every time a sales tax proposal comes up with the excuse "it's only an extra penny", vote no. Don't give in, vote no on future tax renewals or increases.
This is a purely political thing masquerading as muh rights. Something funded by the public should be politically neutral rather than push an agenda regardless of what it is. The people have the power of the purse, they should use it.

I bet it's closer to 9 out of 10. Probably half of them think they know, but if actually asked, would give an answer that had nothing to do with the topic.

They're there to fight the fascists who are trying to remove LGBTQIA+ books aimed at kids under the age of 8.

Uhh, the librarians are the first line of censorship. They choose what hits the stacks. Do you think their choices lean left or right? Bet the librarians "hide" books from people.
Obviously not well enough in this case
Are these protesters for or against censorship?
I am against censorship. People decide what they do and do not read.

Libraries allow all this gay garbage, but won't let kirk Cameron advertise his book, or have 1 hour story time. He contacted 50 Libraries, and all 50 turned him down. Our country is completely backwards and sinful

No censorship, please!
Of or by librarians
That includes your flavor of politics, religions, and recipe books censoring the other flavors of politics, religions, and recipe books
Most importantly, it includes not allowing those who oppose your flavor of politics, religions, and recipe books to censor your flavor of politics, religions, and recipe books.
If you consider this particular subject "grooming", then don't read or don't allow your children to read the books. Handle your own parenting, and don't let censorship be your crutch.

Zero censorship of any kind? Can we show inmate executions on Saturday mornings in the middle of cartoons?

Especially cartoons
Just not Friends re-runs
So, a smidge of sensible censorship is fine.

You can't have both

Should pornhub be allowed to be played on loop in a public setting where kids might be? Yes or no? And if no, why is that not censorship?
Your take is fricking stupid and YOU are the one relying on a crutch.

I am 100% against censorship but the movement against these books is not necessarily that.
Libraries have finite funds, finite space, finite labor, and finite time.
Therefore, decisions must be made. And since libraries are funded by the public, they should serve the public, and take into consideration what the public wants and needs.
Librarians are making the decision to spend public funds on these books, they're making the decision to put these books front and center, and they're choosing to schedule drag queens to read these books to children. This isn't reflective of public demand for this content.
I don't care that these books might be donated by someone and end up on the shelf somewhere if someone digs and seeks it out. I care that libraries are making the decision to push it.
Example: Mein Kampf should be carried by libraries, it's a historically important book. But if I walked into a public library and saw a Hitler impersonator scheduled to read it and a bunch of copies of Nazi era propaganda put out on display I'd question what's going on. And my questioning that wouldn't be "censorship"

This is just another example of the Left attempting to take over the language.

Trust our librarians? WTfreak - how can you trust almost anybody in public service let alone librarians led by a lesbian in charge of the National Librarian Association?

That’s not reflective of the St. Tammany in which I grew up.

If libraries played pornhub on a loop (and offered power tools), then some of the people bitching about
St. Tammany Libraries might actually go to one.
Kidding
I am not 'anything goes' anti-censorship. It is more than reasonable to censor pornhub play in an open public setting at a public library. You are right.
I am also not 'anything goes' for censorship and challenge those who conveniently use the label of "grooming" to create cause for censorship simply based upon their political, religious or other views.
If you got your way, A&M would probably not have Yell Leaders. Kidding!
I am also not a lead with fear (from grooming) person

Right verb

So is the argument that no one checks these books out so get rid of them
And buy more Clifford books or is it that these books are bad for kids.

I didn't read all of the posts in this thread, so I can only speak for myself and my own opinion.
My position on both of those arguments can easily be inferred by simply reading my post. Either you didn't do so or you're purposely being obtuse so you can box me into backing an argument I never intended to make.
