I know this girl and her family personally, the parents are great people, so is she. I honestly have no clue why she would write something like that, she really isn't a bad person.

I don't see anything wrong with it, she is expressing her opinion, but maybe do it in a little more subtle way

$ talks in catholic schools. I have seen kids that should have been expelled many times remain in school b/c their parents made donations.

because it's the "in" thing to knock whitey down off their high horse on every level, that's why.

Yes. The kid thinks all black people are bad because of the actions of some black people, yet there are bad white people.. So why doesn't he think all white people are bad?

Well maybe he had read the Advocate the day he wrote this. Hell just look at the mug shots into todays paper.

Her opinion is short-sighted and stupid, but writing about black history because it's February is trite, likewise short-sighted, and meaningless and degrading to blacks. English departments who did this at mostly white schools are just going through the motions.

How the frick do you get into high school writing like that?

I mean besides there on an athletic scholarship for being a running back or point guard.

All the St. Michael's kids I knew in HS (Bishop Sully) were trash dicks.

Hilarious, yet here we are going to out of state universities while you were stuck at LSU.

it's words. Who gives a frick. Why the witch hunt for a teen writing words that people don't like?

Tell that to the Catholic school she represents. How many companies would just brush it off if one of their employees posted something like this? It's about perception and this doesn't look good for a school that supposedly teaches higher standards.

fricking this. If a black kid wrote this same shite about whitey, they'd be given a frickin cookie and spot on the news. This girl's only fault is her awful grammar. Thats the real story here. Not her musings on blacks. Maybe their absolutely true from her perspective? Why are we supposed to accept this kind of opinion from minorities, but not from a white girl?

I'm not saying she was in the right for what she said, but she has an opinion as do we all. I don't think she fully understands the gravity of what she said.

Could be that, or it could be the part at the end where she suggests that the world would be a better place if millions of black people were still in slavery.

Who really cares? The school that was previously named after a bishop who molested kids.. That's all you have to say and everyone will know what school you are referring to.

Either way, the school needs to upgrade its English department.
